3 Directions for Adam Cole after losing AEW Full Gear spot

AEW star Adam Cole will not be going to Full Gear pay-per-view this year after his recent loss. He lost to International Champion Konosuke Takeshita on tonight's episode of Dynamite.

After The Panama City Playboy returned from injury at WrestleDream, he confronted MJF. Later, when he challenged Maxwell, the latter laid out a gauntlet for him and Roderick Strong, as he also wanted to get his hands on MJF. The former AEW World Champion said that whoever picks three wins in a row ahead of Full Gear will face him. Both the stars readily accepted the challenge.

From then, Adam Cole defeated Malakai Black and Buddy Matthews, while Roderick Strong defeated Shane Taylor and The Beast Mortos. Both the stars needed to win one more match to go to Full Gear. The Messiah of the Backbreaker won a Falls Count Anywhere match against Lance Archer, but Adam Cole failed to win against The Alpha.

Many fans were shocked, as many expected the 2022 Men's Owen Hart Cup winner to go to Full Gear. Let's take a look at some of the directions he can take following the major setback.

#3. He could have a rematch with Konosuke Takeshita

The International Champion showcased a stellar performance on Dynamite. His match against Adam Cole took place after MJF paid Don Callis to take care of his foe. While many were confident that Cole would head into Full Gear, he couldn't beat The Alpha.

Adam Cole might challenge Takeshita for a rematch, in which the former can win. A win over the International Champion could be a huge redemption for the star.

#2. Adam Cole could challenge MJF at Worlds End

The Panama City Playboy lost his chance to face The Salt of the Earth at Full Gear. His friend Roderick Strong will face him on behalf of The Undisputed Kingdom. Now that he isn't involved in any other storyline, he could go on a hiatus and return after the Full Gear pay-per-view.

The 2022 Men's Owen Hart Cup winner could challenge him for the Worlds End pay-per-view in December. At last year's show, Adam cost Maxwell his AEW World Championship against Samoa Joe. Also, the former revealed himself as the Devil and took out Maxwell along with his henchmen. It remains to be seen what his immediate plans for the future are.

#1. Adam Cole could turn on Roderick Strong

Adam Cole winning two matches in a row and only falling one match short of claiming his spot at Full Gear could be very frustrating. The Messiah of the Backbreaker inserted himself into the storyline and replaced The Undisputed Kingdom's leader. After being jealous of his success, The Panama City Playboy could turn heel on Strong.

The betrayal happening at Full Gear could be majestic as the outcome of his action could lead to a Triple Threat match in the future. Roderick Strong will be strongly benefitted in this feud as he would be the only babyface amongst the three.

It will be interesting to see who emerges victorious at Full Gear between Roderick Strong and MJF. Many are also wondering what is next for The Panama City Playboy.
