3 duos who should challenge for the AEW Tag Team Titles at Full Gear 2024
AEW World Tag Team Championships have been held by popular tag teams in the past. Tag teams like The Young Bucks, FTR, SCU, The Acclaimed, and Lucha Bros had elevated the division since the start of the Jacksonville-based promotion. During pay-per-views, a tag match is often likely to steal the show due to top-notch match quality and the multiple participants' efforts.
Last Wednesday, AEW produced a very successful special edition of Fright Night Dynamite. The show featured huge matches and moments. Former WWE Champion Bobby Lashley made his debut in the company to attack Swerve Strickland. Also, Private Party, who had been trying hard to win the tag team championships, finally captured the gold after five long years.
The EVPs had a firm hand on titles for many months. Private Party challenged them for the titles last month but fell short. Zay demanded one more shot but had a condition - the duo would have to split if they were unsuccessful in capturing them. At Fright Night Dynamite, Zay and Marq won the titles after a nail-biting contest.
On the latest Collision episode, multiple tag teams came out to challenge the newly crowned champions. After heated face-offs among many contenders, a series of matches were announced to determine three teams, who would face the Private Party at Full Gear in a four-way contest. The event will be taking place on November 23, 2024, at Prudential Centre.
Let's take a look at some of the teams who could challenge the reigning AEW World Tag Team Champions at the pay-per-view.
#3. Outrunners to defeat AEW's Top Flight
The Outrunners is one of the hottest tag teams in AEW right now. Their gimmick has been catchy and made them popular in a very short period. They are also among the top merch sellers. They will be facing Top Flight on the next Collision episode in a fight to become one of the four top contenders.
Tension between Top Flight has been rising since Jon Moxley collided with them. This could cost the team their chance at the titles and the Outrunners could wrestle Private Party at Full Gear.
#2. House of Black
The House of Black is scheduled to face FTR on the November 13 edition of Dynamite in a battle to qualify for Full Gear Pay-Per-View. Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler have been one of the most successful teams in AEW after The Young Bucks as they are two-time tag team champions. Meanwhile, Malakai Black and company haven't been as heavily featured lately as before on the show.
House of Black winning the match on Dynamite could bring them back to the main event scene. It will be interesting to see which team emerges victorious on Dynamite.
#1. La Faccion Ingobernable
La Faccion Ingobernable has been getting stronger week by week as the faction is managed by Hall of Famer Jack Roberts. LFI will be facing The Acclaimed on the November 16 edition of Collision to try to become the number one contender at Full Gear against Private Party.
The new LFI could rise to new heights if they are given an opportunity to perform at the show. It will be interesting to see which three teams qualify for the four-way match and who emerges on the top at Full Gear.
