3 last minute matches that could be added to AEW Full Gear 2024

AEW Full Gear has been shaping up to be great so far. With the pay-per-view just days away, fans are excited about what will go down on the show. Last year's event was a bit disappointing as the show lacked storied feuds and top stars other than MJF, Sting, Adam Copeland, Toni Storm, Jon Moxley, and the Golden Elite.

Since the previous month, the Tony Khan-based promotion has vastly improved their structure. Every feud on the card has a meaningful story unlike random matches announced before. This show has been built on good storytelling, which radiates from the lower to the upper card. AEW has announced nine matches for Full Gear so far.

Jon Moxley will defend his AEW World Championship against Orange Cassidy. Also, the Private Party will defend the tag team title against the Acclaimed, Outrunners, and House of Black. TBS Champion Mercedes Mone has a huge challenge in the form of Kris Statlander while Daniel Garcia has his eyes set on Jack Perry's TNT Championship.

Further, MJF will take on Roderick Strong after the latter fulfilled Maxwell's conditions. Jay White and Hangman Page will look to destroy each other after their heated rivalry. Kyle Fletcher will take on former best friend and teammate Will Ospreay. In a highly anticipated match, Bobby Lashley will take on Swerve Strickland. Moreover, QT Marshall is set to face Big Boom AJ at Zero Hour.

Despite the show being stacked, many stories are left incomplete and yet to get a payoff.

Let's take a look at some of the matches that Tony Khan should add to the Full Gear's card.

#3. Kyle O'Reilly vs. Adam Cole

Adam Cole failed to punch his ticket to Full Gear after losing to Konosuke Takeshita on a recent Dynamite episode. However, fans witnessed an interesting dynamic following the match. While Roderick Strong and Cole were standing in the ring, Kyle O'Reilly showed his support to the former but not to The Panama City Playboy.

Kyle and Cole fighting at Full Gear may be an exciting matchup. Also, the Panama City Playboy winning at the bout could motivate him again.

#2. Hook vs Christian Cage

The Patriarchy has been after Hook for a long time. The former attacked his father Taz a few days ago. The story has seen new twists and turns after the involvement of Kip Sabian in the Patriarchy. AEW still has the go-home show of Dynamite to develop it and make Hook versus Christian Cage official for the pay-per-view.

The match could be fun as fans could see Kip Sabian and even Taz's interference during the contest.

#1. Will Ricochet claim his first AEW championship?

Konosuke Takeshita has been pushed to the moon recently. He is currently holding the International Championship after defeating Will Opsreay at WrestleDream. Last week, he caused a major upset after pinning Adam Cole on Dynamite. However, the Japanese star is constantly being chased by Ricochet, who pinned him a couple of weeks ago.

It is only a matter of time before Tony Khan announces the battle between the two for the International Championship. The match could pan out to be a classic.
