3 Mistakes Jon Moxley should not make in his feud against Bryan Danielson on AEW
Jon Moxley has been on a path of destruction as he started a war in AEW. After returning to the promotion in August, he aligned with Marina Shafir and teased to start a faction. He turned on Bryan Danielson, his former friend at All Out pay-per-view, kicking him out of Blackpool Combat Club in just a few days.
Further, Claudio Castagnoli and PAC joined forces with The Lunatic Fringe. Meanwhile, Wheeler Yuta was left conflicted as his groupmates were split into two teams. After taking out the American Dragon, Jon Moxley then aimed at Darby Allin and his number-one contender spot for the AEW World Championship.
On the Grand Slam: Dynamite edition, Moxley decimated the former TNT Champion during the entire bout and became the challenger to Bryan Danielson's AEW World Championship. The duo will square off at WrestleDream. This may be The American Dragon's last match as a full-time wrestler, as he will be a part-timer if he loses his world title.
Throughout the last weeks, Jon Moxley has carefully carved his way to the championship, but one minor error could put him in the back of the line. Let's take a look at some of the mistakes the former AEW World Champion could make.
#3. Jon Moxley shouldn't underestimate Bryan Danielson
After Bryan Danielson vs. Swerve Strickland was confirmed in the main event on All In London, AEW and Bryan himself announced his neck issues and stated that he would need surgery soon.
At WrestleDream, merciless Jon Moxley could easily target his opponent's neck and have the upper hand in the match as he isn't 100%. However, Bryan could survive Moxley's offense and defeat the latter to continue his reign. Therefore, the Lunatic Fringe must be aware of his opponent's techniques and work on them.
#2. Interruption by Jon Moxley's faction could cost him the title
The Death Rider has formed his own faction and is utilizing them to get the upper hand in his feuds. Marina Shafir, Claudio Castagnoli, and PAC have had Moxley's back.
To help Moxley win the contest, his stablemates could try to weaken the American Dragon. This could lead to disqualification, and Moxley could lose his chance to win the championship.
#1. Neglecting Wheeler Yuta
Wheeler Yuta was the youngest member of the Blackpool Combat Club. Jon, Bryan, and Claudio mentored him for the last couple of years. Under their guidance, he has become one of the industry's fastest-rising stars.
On last week's Dynamite, the former ROH Pure Champion saved Bryan Danielson from Jon Moxley's army. While the BCC may ignore Yuta due to his lack of experience, he might turn the tables in the story and could help the AEW World Champion retain.
It will be interesting to see if Moxley interferes in the upcoming Dynamite when Wheeler and Bryan take on Claudio Castagnoli and PAC. Also, it remains to be seen if the Lunatic Fringe puts a stop to Danielson's AEW run at WrestleDream pay-per-view.
