3 Potential associates who could help MJF against Adam Cole
Adam Cole and MJF have been feuding for a very long time. They have been associated with each other since 2023. They were great friends last year but currently are foes and have been waiting to fight it out.
After Maxwell returned to Double or Nothing earlier this year, he decimated Cole despite being medically uncleared. While he wrestled regularly since then, the Panama City Playboy was still sidelined due to an ankle injury. The latter finally returned to WrestleDream and confronted MJF. Further, Adam Cole demanded a match against Friedman, but the former AEW World Champion denied it and stated that the 35-year-old star would have to pass a major hurdle to face him.
Simultaneously, Roderick Strong, MJF's second enemy, wanted to beat up the star. So he suggested that Adam and Roderick win three matches to face him at Full Gear.
So far, Adam Cole has defeated Malakai Black and Buddy Matthews in a row. Meanwhile, Roderick Strong picked up just one victory in Collision against Shane Taylor. After his match with Malakai Black, Adam boldly claimed that he and Roderick Strong would each win three matches ahead of Full Gear, and then the match would be made a triple threat match at the pay-per-view.
As MJF sensed that a three-way contest would disadvantage him, he sought outside help. He contacted Don Callis and offered him money and his Dynamite Diamond ring. Later, a match between the Don Callis Family member Konosuke Takeshita and Adam Cole was made official for next week's Dynamite.
If the Alpha doesn't finish the job, MJF might need other candidates to take on Adam Cole. Let's look at some stars who would help Maxwell get rid of him ahead of Full Gear.
#3. Wardlow
MJF assaulted Wardlow for many months during the initial years of the latter's career. However, he slipped out of his clutches and established himself as a top star. At the 2023 Worlds End, Mr. Mayhem was amongst the Devil's henchmen who went after Maxwell. The former has been out of action for a few months due to an injury.
Also, during his time under Adam Cole's leadership in the Undisputed Kingdom, he and Wardlow had tension. MJF could use this to convince the former TNT Champion to betray Adam.
#2. Miro
Miro, one of the company's biggest powerhouses, was one of the top stars in the promotion. Despite being given a decent push, he hasn't been seen in the promotion since December 2023.
Due to creative disputes, he hasn't been seen on AEW TV in 2024. He also requested his release from AEW back in September.
Tony Khan could bring back Miro on television as an associate to the former AEW World Champion. A surprise return from The Redeemer could intrigue more interest in the storyline.
#1. Roderick Strong to join MJF?
The Messiah of the Backbreaker has been aligned with Adam Cole for many months. Currently, both the stars are in the race to face MJF.
While Adam seemed confident that both the stars would pick three victories in a row, the Salt of the Earth might poison Roderick's mind and lure him into turning on the Undisputed Kingdom leader.
Roderick Strong's changing sides could be a huge mental dent for Adam Cole going into Full Gear against the former American Champion.
It will be interesting to see if the Salt of the Earth is able to convince any AEW star to join his side.
