3 Potential twists in Jon Moxley’s world title match at AEW Worlds End 2024
Jon Moxley is set to put his AEW World Championship on the line in a Four-way match against Orange Cassidy, "Hangman" Adam Page, and Jay White at Worlds End 2024. The Death Riders leader called out his opponents fearlessly by himself backstage on this week's Dynamite: Winter is Coming.
The Purveyor of Violence issued a major challenge. Moxley told them that their egos were ruining their lives and All Elite Wrestling itself and that he had made Christmas come early for them in the form of a world title match.
All three challengers have a great chance of capturing the world title from The Purveyor of Violence at AEW Worlds End. However, several twists can occur in this match, and we're here to examine some of the best and wildest ones.
Here's a look at the three possible twists:
#3. Bryan Danielson could return to seek revenge on Jon Moxley
Even though it hasn't been too long since Bryan Danielson was taken out by The Death Riders, it won't be surprising to see The American Dragon return at AEW Worlds End 2024.
We all know Jon Moxley and The Death Riders will, at some point, pay for what they did to the former AEW World Champion. What could be better than Bryan returning at Worlds End to cost his former stablemate the world title and reignite their feud once again?
#2. One of the contenders could help Jon Moxley retain the title
All three contestants, Orange Cassidy, Hangman Page, and Jay White, have major issues with Jon Moxley and his faction. However, it would be a major twist in the story if Moxley only willingly issued this challenge for the AEW World Championship because he knew there would be an ally in the match who'd help him secure the win.
As to who that mystery ally could be, the most shocking pick would be Hangman Page due to his character motivations. However, perhaps the right pick for this direction could be Jay White since he would make sense as a valuable addition to The Death Riders.
#1. Shane McMahon could make his AEW debut and force Jon Moxley out of The Death Riders.
There have been a lot of hints regarding the arrival of Shane McMahon to the Jacksonville-based company. The Prodigal Son had a private meeting with Tony Khan earlier this year. He was also later spotted with The Young Bucks and Mercedes Mone. It seems that Shane's debut in AEW is almost certain and may happen at any moment.
Now, it would be an incredibly wild twist from a booking perspective, but stick with us. What if Shane McMahon shows up at AEW Worlds End and replaces Jon Moxley as the leader of The Death Riders? Even though the potential twist would cause major controversy within the wrestling promotion, it would also garner a lot of attention to the product.
Now, we're not saying he would be the perfect choice to lead The Death Riders, but so wasn't Vince McMahon as the leader of The Ministry of Darkness. Perhaps The Prodigal Son might feel like following in his father's footsteps from a storyline aspect in another major wrestling promotion.
