3 Reasons why Jon Moxley turned on Bryan Danielson
Last night at AEW All Out, the whole world was in shock after a Blackpool Combat Club reunion turned into an orchestrated attack by Jon Moxley on Bryan Danielson. Mox also brought some members of the faction to his side.
With the group being together since 2022, this was the first show of any major disharmony between them. The four core members have been together for two years, with PAC coming in as a recent addition to the faction.
However, it seems that the group has now outed Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley will be leading a new faction moving forward. He'll be flanked by Claudio Castagnoli, PAC, and Marina Shafir. Wheeler Yuta's allegiance has yet to be determined. Now, here are some reasons why Mox could have turned on Bryan.
#1. Jon Moxley wants the AEW World Championship
One thing that has been a factor for major heel turns across the industry has been a championship belt. Bryan Danielson now stands as the AEW World Champion, and Moxley may want the prize to come back to him.
He stands as the man on the roster to have the most world title reigns with three, but the last time he held the title was back in 2022. It was MJF who dethroned him, and the latter would end up becoming the longest-reigning World Champion in the company's history.
With Bryan pushing his way to the top, it seems that the man who wants to topple him is someone who is closest to him. Jon Moxley may now be gunning for his fourth World Championship reign, with his new faction flanking him.
#2. William Regal's words seem to make sense now
Back in late 2022, William Regal cost Jon Moxley the AEW World Championship, and thus began MJF's reign. It was reported that he was headed back to WWE, but he left with some parting words for the BCC. He claimed that he just made an example out of Mox, and he advised him to always have eyes in the back of his head.
From that moment on, Moxley may have taken that to heart and become aware of the possibilities. He may even have gone as far as to look within his group. This may have brought him to the conclusion that Bryan Danielson could pose a problem for him and made him go as far as to eliminate that possibility.
This may be something he has been planning for a while now. On the other hand, he may be that person Regal had been warning them about, and he picked the perfect moment to destroy the Blackpool Combat Club from within.
#3. Jon Moxley is back to take the company from Bryan Danielson
At the Dynamite after All In, Jon Moxley made an unannounced return to AEW. He went straight into business, calling out Darby Allin right from the get-go. However, the most interesting part of his promo was claiming that it wasn't someone's company anymore. It remains to be seen who these words were directed toward.
After what happened at All Out, this could be Bryan Danielson. The American Dragon has been the type to fight for AEW, and he has represented the promotion through many battles, including one against The Elite. He is also now the company's World Champion, making him the face of All Elite Wrestling.
Jon Moxley may have called him out after he became the champion to make a statement. This may mean that Mox is out here to take everything away from Bryan, including his status as the face of the company. With this, even Bryan's closest allies may not be safe from Moxley's wrath.
Jon Moxley has yet to address his actions personally and clear up the future of the BCC. This may also be the dawn of a new faction—one that he will lead to take over the company. Everyone should tune into Dynamite this week to find out if he finally breaks his silence.
