3 Signs House of Black’s breakup is imminent in AEW

A lot has happened in AEW since the start of the year. The 2024 Worlds End pay per view served as the perfect segue into the new year and so far, it has not disappointed.

A surprising piece of news that has come out over the last few days is that Malakai Black is reportedly done with the company. This has come as a surprise to many given how talented he is. However, considering how Black was booked over the last two years, one can understand his rumored decision to depart from the promotion.

Black's reported exit leaves the House of Black in a precarious position. A lot of hints have been dropped over the last few days that make it evident that the group is going to disband soon. In this article, we will look at three signs that indicate that the stable's breakup is on the horizon.

#3 Brody King is ready for a singles push

The House of Black is a great group. The talent has been there for everyone to see but sadly, the faction's members have not been booked in prominent roles. Among all the members of the faction, there is one name that has been constantly involved in stellar matches and that is Brody King.

King is the powerhouse of the faction and it is obvious that he is destined for great things. Not only that, but he is also a great technical wrestler with solid promo skills. A singles push for King is around the corner and with the potential breakup of the stable, he should get it.

#2 Will Ospreay wanting Buddy Matthews to go solo

Will Ospreay and Buddy Matthews faced off on AEW Dynamite this past Wednesday, and it was a great match. Ospreay came out on top, but that was not the end of the interaction between the two.

After the match, Ospreay took the microphone and urged Mathews to go solo. Since Black is reportedly set to leave, Buddy can be pushed as a singles star.

#1 Adam Copeland approaching Brody King on AEW Collision

AEW Collision saw a very interesting interaction between Adam Copeland and the House of Black’s Brody King and Julia Hart. This was probably the biggest hint about the upcoming split.

The former WWE star said he knew how the House of Black was seemingly directionless. But he also acknowledged how good of a wrestler Brody King was. The Hall of Famer endorsed King and planted the seeds of forming a faction with the powerhouse in the future.
