3 stars Jon Moxley may not want in AEW
Since returning to AEW in August 2024, Jon Moxley has set out on a path of destruction, intending to reform the Tony Khan-led company as per his own vision. The Purveyor of Violence has put together a dangerous faction called "The Death Riders," which comprises PAC, Marina Shafir, Wheeler Yuta, and Claudio Castagnoli.
At WrestleDream 2024, Jon Moxley started a new era for AEW by dethroning the then-reigning AEW World Champion, Bryan Danielson. The Ace of All Elite Wrestling gave a hurtful sendoff to The American Dragon, whose full-time career is now over, thanks to the brutality of The Death Riders.
The group has held the Jacksonville-based promotion hostage for the last two months, annihilating every babyface that dares to step up against them. The Lunatic Fringe seemingly has a specific vision he wants to implement over the Tony Khan-led company. Moxley intends to eliminate complacency and feelings of dissatisfaction from the AEW roster by punishing every babyface who has failed to live up to his potential.
As the former IGWP World Heavyweight Champion continues to gain power over time, certain stars would want out of All Elite Wrestling immediately. A few talents have become disgruntled over the last two years, dissatisfied with their roles in the promotion. While they could be justified in feeling underutilized, the reigning AEW World Champion might not tolerate someone not being onboard for his vision of rebuilding All Elite Wrestling.
In this article, let's look at three superstars Jon Moxley might not want in All Elite Wrestling.
#3. Miro could be on his way out of All Elite Wrestling
Miro has been absent from AEW television since December 2023. The Redeemer was among the most well-booked stars in the Tony Khan-led company during 2020-21. Unfortunately, bad booking and recurring injuries destroyed all the momentum he had accumulated over time.
The last two years have been quite forgettable for the Bulgarian Brute, as he has constantly been involved in underwhelming storylines on television. The former WWE United States Champion has become quite dissatisfied with his position in All Elite Wrestling, resulting in him asking for his release from the company.
Jon Moxley might be agitated about Miro's decision not to be part of AEW. The Purveyor of Violence is laser-focused on the company's growth, and The Deathrider may not tolerate any discontentment shown by a roster member.
If Miro leaves All Elite Wrestling in the coming months, he might be able to escape the wrath of The Death Rider. If The Redeemer decides to continue in the Tony Khan-led company, his paths will inevitably collide with Moxley and his stable.
#2. Ricky Starks has been absent from AEW television for too long
Since the inception of The Death Riders, Jon Moxley has specifically targeted the young babyface stars of All Elite Wrestling, who often express their displeasure about not getting major opportunities. The Purveyor of Violence is infuriated with the crop of young stars in the Jacksonville-based promotion, who he feels have failed to achieve their goals due to their complacency.
Another individual who is going back and forth with AEW's creative team is Ricky Starks. The Absolute One has been absent from television since March 2024 owing to a lack of creative plans. The Stroke Daddy is upset about not getting to weave his magic in All Elite Wrestling, which could eventually result in his exit from the company.
The Deathrider would not be thrilled about Ricky Starks' attitude. After multiple attempts at solidifying himself as a main event talent, The Absolute could suffer the wrath of Moxley, who would punish Starks for not justifying his potential. It would be a great way to blur the lines between fiction and reality by having The Death Riders target the Stroke Daddy.
The reigning AEW World Champion would never want an individual on his roster whose career graph in the company has been quite inconsistent. If there is someone who would certainly benefit from fighting a tyrant like Moxley, it is Ricky Starks.
#1. Rey Fenix was supposed to leave for WWE
Rey Fenix has been one of the most dedicated stars throughout his five-year stint in All Elite Wrestling. The luchador captivated the fans with his breathtaking aerial maneuvers.
However, the former International Champion has seemingly decided to move on from the Tony Khan-led company. A few months ago, Fenix's deal with All Elite Wrestling officially expired, which apparently led to negotiations between him and WWE.
However, Tony Khan has added injury time to Fenix's contract, which will keep the luchador in the Jacksonville-based promotion for nearly another year.
Now that the 33-year-old star is set to remain with AEW for the upcoming few months, the creative team could pit him in a compelling rivalry with Jon Moxley. The Purveyor of Violence could bring up Fenix's desire to move on from his current promotion and explain how it makes him ineligible to be a part of the company's future.
Moxley could chastise the Mexican star for attempting to part ways with the Tony Khan-led company instead of fully exploring his singles potential. If Fenix intends to leave AEW, Jon Moxley could ensure he gets the most painful sendoff possible.
