3 stars Mercedes Mone could replace Kamille with in AEW
Mercedes Mone is the reigning AEW TBS Champion as well as the NJPW Strong Women's Champion. She made her debut in the Jacksonville-based company earlier this year. However, she is already one of their biggest assets. Furthermore, she is currently in an alliance with “The Brickhouse" Kamille.
Ever since Kamille and Mone joined forces, they have been unstoppable. The former has made sure that The CEO and her title reign are protected all the time but in last week's Dynamite, she let the champion down. On AEW Fright Night Dynamite, Kamile locked horns with former TBS Champion Kris Statlander. This match was intense and was won by Statlander. Furthermore, she gave the former NWA World Women's Champion her first defeat in the promotion.
Mercedes Mone was furious with this result. After the showdown concluded, she attacked Statlander and ordered her ally to leave the ring and head backstage. It looks like The CEO is quite frustrated with Kamile and this could result in their partnership coming to an end. Furthermore, Mone will defend the AEW TBS Championship against Statlander in the upcoming Full Gear Pay-Per-View.
Since the 32-year-old is losing faith in Kamile, she might replace her soon. Here are three names who could become her new bodyguard in place of the former NWA World Women's Champion.
#3. Megan Bayne could protect Mercedes Mone better than Kamille
Megan Bayne is a 26-year-old professional wrestler who performs on the independent circuit. She is highly skilled, & strong, and has megastar written all over her. Her future is bright and Tony Khan would profit immensely by giving her an All Elite Wrestling contract.
Bayne is more than 6 ft tall and as dominant in the ring as Kamille. She might in fact be a better bodyguard to the reigning TBS Champion than 'The Brickhouse.' She is the current HOG Women's Champion and has wrestled in the popular Japanese wrestling promotion, World Wonder Ring Stardom. If she replaces Kamille, it will make perfect sense.
#2. Former AEW Women's Champion "Timeless" Toni Storm
Toni Storm has not appeared in AEW since she lost the AEW Women's World Championship to Mariah May at All In. However, she has been performing in various other promotions. Her AEW return is inevitable, but it is not known when that will happen.
Upon her return, if she goes after May and the AEW Women's World Championship, that wouldn't be very exciting because that's a predictable angle. Instead, it would be interesting to see her temporarily drop the 'Timeless' gimmick, form an alliance with Mercedes Mone, and replace Kamille.
#1. Former WWE star Indi Hartwell
Indi Hartwell was recently released by the WWE. The is a former NXT Women's Champion and also won the NXT Women's Tag Team Champion (with Candice LeRae). While it is unknown what the future holds for her, many fans believe that she would fit right in the AEW roster.
Hartwell could also profit from joining forces with Mercedes Mone if she joins the Jacksonville-based company. Since both of them were previously employed by WWE, they could have amazing chemistry. She is definitely a worthy replacement for Kamille.
