4 AEW stars who could be hiding behind MJF's Devil mask
Something strange happened on AEW Collision on Saturday. After a long time, fans saw a glimpse of The Devil (an MJF persona), but it was not revealed who was behind the mask.
The Devil startled Jay White and the Bullet Club Gold members, and it was evident that it had something to do with MJF, given that the faction has been targeting him over the last few weeks.
White will take on MJF at Full Gear next month, and all this could be a ploy on the part of the AEW World Champion to get into the mind of his opponent.
Fans speculated about who could be behind the mask, but there has been no official confirmation up until now. In this article, we will take a look at four possible wrestlers that could be hiding behind the mask.
#4. Mustafa Ali makes AEW debut
Mustafa Ali was let go by WWE under shocking circumstances. Ever since then, he has been without a home. If there is one way he could make a big splash in AEW, it would be by aligning himself with MJF in his match against Jay White next month.
With Adam Cole out injured, it could make sense for Tony Khan to bring in Ali as MJF’s accomplice and add another layer of intrigue to an already great storyline.
#3. Adam Cole
Adam Cole has been away after having surgery on his ankle, and his return date is not known as of yet. During the skits he is involved in with Roderick Strong, he has shown signs of boiling over, and it all came to a standstill on Saturday when he finally flipped and walked out of his best friend's home.
Given that he has not been able to be there for MJF over the last few weeks, his coming over in the form of The Devil would make perfect sense. Maxwell would be genuinely happy if Adam Cole were behind the mask, and he helped him to retain the title against Jay White at AEW Full Gear.
#2. Roderick Strong
Another name that could be behind the mask is Roderick Strong. After Adam Cole flipped and walked out on him last week, he said the only way to get back with Adam was to befriend MJF. This could be his way of going about his business.
With Cole out injured, Strong could replace him in MJF’s corner, help him retain the title, and win his trust. That way, the three men could form a faction and keep this storyline going when Cole returns from injury.
#1. MJF
MJF has been a face ever since aligning himself with Adam Cole, and that has gotten him over like no one else. The fans love his new persona, and even he seems to be loving every moment. In the process, it feels like he has lost the mean streak that made him a special wrestler.
If the AEW Champion does indeed come back with The Devil persona, it could suggest that he does not trust anyone, and it could also mean he is back to being a heel again. Given all that has happened to him, one wouldn't blame him for turning heel.
