4 AEW stars who split up from their real-life partners in 2024
Many WWE and AEW stars got married this year. For instance, Rhea Ripley and Buddy Mathews tied the knot back in June. Dominik Mysterio also got married to his long-time girlfriend Juliette in March 2024.
While fans heard the ringing of many wedding bells, they also saw some wrestlers ending their relationships this year. Here are the names of four such AEW stars who split up from their real-life partners in 2024.
#1. Former TNT Champin Miro
Miro (formerly called Rusev in WWE) married CJ Perry (aka Lana) in July 2016. The couple was together for over seven years. They have worked together in AEW and WWE as well.
Back in March, TMZ reported that Miro and Perry had decided to end their marriage. The latter then confirmed their split to the media outlet. She even disclosed that she was open to working with her ex-husband in the future.
"Miro and I have made the difficult decision to separate after many wonderful years together, and have decided to move on as friends, and hopefully onscreen characters somewhere down the road," the former AEW star told TMZ.
#2. and #3. AEW's power couple Adam Cole and Britt Baker
Adam Cole and Britt Baker have been together since 2017. They were AEW's power couple. But they decided to call it quits last month. Rumors of their break up had been swirling on the internet for some time.
The Panama City Playboy, in an interview with Rick Ucchino of SI's The Takedown, put an end to those rumors and confirmed that he and The D.M.D have decided to go their separate ways.
"We are no longer a couple. But when I say that we both still love each other and are still friends and still so supportive of each other, that could not be more true," he said.
#4. The CEO Mercedes Mone
Mercedes Mone confirmed taking a divorce from her husband of eight years in a recent interview. She shared how happy she was to finally be free from her marriage. She also discussed why she kept her marriage troubles a secret from her fans.
"Tomorrow, finally after a long, long time, I will be finally signing my divorce papers. And I am excited. I am happy. And for me, I am just ready to be free. I am ready to be free of not being afraid. And for so long, I have kept this secret because of how fast life has been going and so much that has been happening over wrestling and I just did not want the outside world to judge or say anything,” she said.
The CEO married retired pro wrestler and WWE costume designer Sarath Ton in 2016. They had been separated for several years, and their divorce was finalized in August of this year.
