4 mistakes Tony Khan must avoid making at AEW All Out 2024
AEW had a blockbuster weekend a few days ago as they presented their successful All In Pay-Per-View at Wembley Stadium. In just two weeks, the Jacksonville-based promotion is set to produce another pay-per-view in Chicago. All Out will be held in NOW Arena on September 7, 2024.
In the post-All In Dynamite, many matches were made official for All Out as there is not much time left to build longer feuds. However, a few of the feuds started a few weeks ago but couldn't capitalize due to All In being in the way. Last year, All Out was just a week away from All In but due to the proximity of the two events and travelling issues, the show has been pushed a couple of weeks forward.
As of now, Tony Khan has announced five matches for the show. Some fans feel Khan made some huge booking mistakes at All In PPV. Let's take a look at some of the errors he shouldn't be making at All Out Chicago.
#4. No interference in Swerve Strickland vs. "Hangman" Adam Page
Hangman has been poking his nose in Swerve's business for several weeks since returning in July. The duo have been engaged in a heated rivalry since 2023. The Anxious Millenial Cowboy even tried to interfere in All In's main event between Strickland and Bryan Danielson.
On the recent edition of Dynamite, Swerve, and Adam had a verbal confrontation and later, AEW announced that the bout between them would take place in a Steel Cage. As the match already has tons of storytelling, many expect the ending to the match to be clean and stars like Jeff Jarrett, Kazuchika Okada, or Prince Nana shouldn't interfere in the contest.
#3. Jon Moxley shouldn't be absent at AEW All Out
The former AEW World Champion has been a valuable asset for AEW since its inception. However, he hasn't been featured in the promotion as much as before. In April, he became the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion and defended the title in NJPW for the majority of the time. Also, he took a hiatus from work for two months in June.
On the recent Wednesday night show, Jon Moxley returned to Dynamite with seemingly a brand-new character. Many are speculating that he will be forming a faction and has already joined forces with Marina Shafir. Now that he has returned after a break, Tony Khan should book Moxley in a major role.
#2. Daniel Garcia shouldn't lose against MJF
The Dragon Slayer was absent from AEW for weeks after MJF brutally ambushed him. During his absence, reports of Garcia's contract coming up emerged. It was also reported that WWE had shown interest in signing him. He returned at All In to cost MJF his American Championship but is reportedly yet to re-sign with the company.
After their massive brawl on Dynamite this week, Tony Khan made the match between them official for All Out. This will be a crucial contest as Daniel's win or loss could help him decide which promotion to sign with. If AEW wants to keep the 25-year-old star, he should defeat Maxwell at All Out.
#1. Jack Perry shouldn't dethrone Bryan Danielson
The American Dragon became the AEW World Champion at All In. On the recent edition of Dynamite, Bryan Danielson stated that he would be ending his full-time career after losing the title. Later, Jack Perry introduced himself as his opponent for All Out.
Tony Khan shouldn't book the AEW World Champion to lose in his first title defense. Also, Bryan Danielson could turn out to be a huge draw as a champion. The tease of the curtains coming down after a loss should keep the fans invested in Danielson's story in the future. It will be interesting to see what happens at All Out Pay-Per-View.
