4 Ways Adam Cole can get revenge on MJF after AEW Full Gear 2024
Adam Cole has been embroiled in a rivalry with MJF on AEW programming that began last year but has yet to be properly resolved. Fans and critics have expressed some confusion regarding the feud lately, owing to the stars' shifting heel-face leanings.
While The Kingdom is still seemingly backing Cole up, tensions have flared between him and Kyle O'Reilly in light of Friedman injuring Roderick Strong after beating him at Full Gear 2024. The Panama City Playboy is looking for vengeance against The Wolf of Wrestling, and there are several ways AEW could book the former WWE Superstar to finally have his way with his former best friend.
Let us explore four of these possibilities below!
#1: Adam Cole could win and take MJF's Dynamite Diamond Ring
This week on AEW Dynamite, Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly inserted themselves into next week's Dynamite Dozen Battle Royal. The winner of this bout will face MJF for his signature Dynamite Diamond Ring, an item that has proven instrumental for Friedman throughout his All Elite Wrestling career and which he has managed to retain successfully so far.
An easy way for Cole to deal a huge blow to MJF would be for him to win next week's battle royal and later beat Friedman to capture his prized diamond ring. The former AEW World Champion secured many important victories with the help of this ring, and considering how closely Friedman's possession of it is tied with his character, its loss would be a massive setback for MJF.
#2: Adam Cole could attack MJF in his "home"
Ever since chasing MJF off at WrestleDream 2024 and making his television return to All Elite Wrestling, Adam Cole has been calling out his former tag partner to face him regularly. However, Friedman has refrained from interacting with Cole in person, addressing the former NXT Champion from undisclosed indoor spaces without even showing up in the arenas.
The 35-year-old star could tire of waiting for MJF to square up with him and attack the latter in his "home" (or in whichever location Friedman tapes his promos). The Salt of the Earth may not expect Cole to bring the fight to him, and the two could take part in an engaging, chaotic brawl where The Undisputed Kingdom member can avenge Roderick Strong.
#3: Adam Cole might cost MJF his future matches in AEW
When MJF was trying to avoid wrestling CM Punk towards the beginning of their rivalry, The Best in The World tried to coerce Friedman into facing him by costing him a victory against Shawn Dean and promising to keep interfering in his bouts unless he agreed to a match.
Adam Cole could adopt a similar tactic to negatively affect his Better Than You Baybay partner's career trajectory since he has the same goal now as Punk did then.
For example, MJF could try to regain championship gold by attempting to win back the AEW International Championship from Konosuke Takeshita—perhaps also to restore it as the AEW American Title once again. However, his efforts could be foiled by Cole, who could aid The Alpha in retaining his belt, getting back at MJF for helping Takeshita beat him on Dynamite earlier this month.
#4: Undisputed Era might reunite to battle MJF after major betrayal
Although Mike Bennett and Matt Taven have claimed that they are loyal to Adam Cole, the duo were absent when The Star of the Show lost his opportunity to face MJF at Full Gear 2024 after suffering an illegal Dynamite Diamond Ring blow from Konosuke Takeshita during their November 13 AEW Dynamite match.
Before that, however, they did help Roderick Strong earn a shot at Friedman at the pay-per-view by helping him defeat Lance Archer in his third straight stipulated victory.
Seeing how MJF was able to dismantle Strong at Full Gear, and considering Kyle O'Reilly's recent criticisms of Cole, AEW could produce a swerve by having Friedman recruit The Kingdom and even reunite with Wardlow and turn them against his bitter rival in a reversal of the ending of Worlds End 2023.
This, in turn, could lead to Cole, O'Reilly, and Strong reforming their alliance to fight MJF and company, resurrecting The Undisputed Era once again.
