5 mistakes Tony Khan must avoid making at AEW Full Gear 2024
AEW Full Gear 2024 is right around the corner and there are a lot of expectations from fans. The match card is stacked and it is a good mix of debuts and surprise celebrity encounters.
With names like Bobby Lashley and Jon Moxley on the card, there is a lot that could go right and Tony Khan will be hoping that is the case. However, on the flip side, there is also a lot that could go wrong.
In this article, we will take a look at five such mistakes Tony Khan must avoid making at AEW Full Gear.
#5. Bobby Lashley must win clean at AEW Full Gear
Bobby Lashley will be making his AEW pay-per-view debut at Full Gear and he will be taking on Swerve Strickland. This match has a lot riding for both stars as there is the question of The Hurt Syndicate playing a role in the proceedings.
Despite how highly Tony Khan thinks of Swerve, he should book Lashley to win this encounter. Not only that, Lashley should win this match clean without any interference from Hurt Syndicate as that will make him look great in his first grand showing in AEW. They can continue this feud with more matches down the line where Swerve can get his win back.
#4. Daniel Garcia must dethrone Jack Perry as TNT Champion
Jack Perry has had a long run as the TNT Champion and it feels like he has run his course as champion. Daniel Garcia, on the other hand, is gaining momentum and for the first time in his career, is looking destined for the top.
With how things have been turning out in the AEW locker room and how Garcia has been leading it, putting the TNT Title on his shoulders will do wonders for him and also for the product in general.
#3. Adam Cole must confront MJF
MJF will be taking on Roderick Strong while Adam Cole looks set to miss the show this weekend. That is bittersweet, given how their rivalry had so much promise before injury cruelly cut short those plans.
The fact that his stable mate Roderick Strong is taking on MJF and not him should irk Cole. Tony Khan should plan out things in such a way that ensures MJF is confronted by Adam Cole as this will ensure that the rivalry still continues between the two even after Full Gear.
#2. Ricochet should not win
As hard as it may be for Ricochet, this will be the right decision. It was announced yesterday that the former WWE star will be taking on Konosuke Takeshita for his International Title.
The reason why Ricochet should not win the title should be that there has hardly been any storyline between the two stars and having him win the title out of the blue will only undermine his status as he emerges as one of the top stars in AEW.
#1. Not bringing back Toni Storm
Toni Storm shocked the entire world this week when she announced that she had retired from wrestling. Of course, a lot of people were caught off guard after that announcement and Tony Khan was also one of them.
He revealed how reports of her demise have been greatly exaggerated and hinted that Storm might not be done with wrestling. The best way to make a statement will be for her to show up at AEW Full Gear and confront any female star from the roster.
