5 stars who could make an appearance at AEW Grand Slam 2024

AEW Grand Slam 2024 is all set to be a memorable affair. Several exciting matches have been announced for the two-day special event, which will begin this Wednesday on Dynamite, before eventually culminating on Saturday Night Collision.

The latest edition of AEW Grand Slam will emanate from the Arthur Ashe Stadium, in New York City. The special annual event will have no shortage of star power, as names like Will Ospreay, Kazuchika Okada, and Jon Moxley are scheduled to compete at Grand Slam.

Interestingly, there are some notable stars that are not scheduled to appear on the upcoming episodes of Dynamite and Collision. However, these superstars could show up in Arthur Ashe Stadium, despite not being announced for the show. In this article, let's look at five stars that could appear at AEW Grand Slam 2024.

#5. Jay White could allow The Bang Bang Gang to dethrone The Blackpool Combat Club

The trio of Claudio Castagnoli, Pac, and Wheeler Yuta are scheduled to defend their AEW World Trios Championships on the upcoming episode of Dynamite. While their opponents are yet to be announced, The Blackpool Combat Club could end up losing their titles if a certain trio steps up against them.

The team in question is The Bang Bang Gang, who have been chasing the Trios Titles for months. The group could capitalize on the BCC's inner turmoil to recapture their championships.

In a surprising turn of events, Jay White could make his much-awaited return to help his faction dethrone the BCC. The Switchblade could make a one-off appearance to prevent the heels from using unfair means.

Although White is yet to be medically cleared for an in-ring return, his mere presence could tilt things in favor of The Bang Bang Gang. Moreover, Wheeler Yuta could refuse to fight alongside his former stablemates, and help The Gunns and Juice Robinson take down their opponents.

After the match, The Catalyst could celebrate the monumental win with his partners, who have been carrying the Trios division for months.

#4. Toni Storm could make her return to All Elite Wrestling

Toni Storm last wrestled at All In 2024, where she lost her AEW Women's World Championship against Mariah May. The Timeless Superstar has not been seen since then, and it is unclear when she will return to the squared circle. However, the Australian star could shock the fans by appearing at Grand Slam 2024.

Having recently lost her title, Toni Storm could set her sights on a fellow top star in the women's division. The Timeless Superstar could lay down a challenge for Mercedes Mone, who is currently the reigning TBS Champion.

A singles encounter between Storm and Mone would make up for a compelling contest for the fans. After losing her AEW Women's World Title against Mariah May, Storm could target Mone's TBS Championship. Having been absent from AEW programming for weeks, the 28-year-old star could finally return at Grand Slam 2024 to call out The CEO.

#3. Ricochet could make an appearance at AEW Grand Slam

Ricochet is all set to battle Will Ospreay for the AEW International Championship on the special "Fifth-Anniversary" episode of AEW Dynamite. While he is not scheduled to compete at Grand Slam 2024, The One and Only could make his presence felt on the upcoming edition of Dynamite.

Will Ospreay will have the opportunity to become a double champion this Wednesday night, when he teams up with Kyle Fletcher to face the AEW World Tag Team Champions, The Young Bucks.

After the match, The Aerial Assassin could be confronted by the Future of the Flight, who would be eager to remind Ospreay to keep his focus on his next title defense.

The One and Only could raise the stakes by attacking The Commonwealth Kingpin on Dynamite. The unprecedented attack could be a great way to get some heat on Ricochet, who has been stuck in the role of a bland babyface for a long time.

#2. Jinder Mahal could finally debut in All Elite Wrestling

Earlier this year, Jinder Mahal was handed his release from WWE. The Modern-Day Maharaja is now grinding on the independent circuit and has already made a significant impact across multiple promotions.

The former WWE Champion could send shockwaves across the wrestling industry by making his official All Elite Wrestling debut at Grand Slam 2024. Mahal could confront the reigning FTW Champion, Hook, who was once involved in an online feud with The Maharaja.

The Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil is scheduled to defend his FTW Title against Roderick Strong at Collision: Grand Slam. If Hook manages to retain his title against Strong, he could be blindsided by a debuting Jinder Mahal.

The former WWE Champion could decimate the young star in his first-ever AEW appearance, effectively setting up a future match between the two performers.

#1. Christian Cage could make an impact at Dynamite: Grand Slam

Christian Cage won the Casino Gauntlet Match at All In 2024 to earn himself a shot at the AEW World Championship. The leader of The Patriarchy tried to cash in on his opportunity at All Out 2024 before he was forced to retreat by The Blackpool Combat Club.

While The Patriarchy is not scheduled to compete at Grand Slam 2024, it would not stop Christian Cage from wreaking havoc on the latest episode of Dynamite.

The former TNT Champion could make his presence felt in the AEW World Championship match between Bryan Danielson and Nigel McGuinness. Captain Charisma could attempt to capitalize on his title shot yet again, only to have his plans spoiled by The American Dragon.

While he may miss out on a chance to become the next World Champion, Cage could send a message to Danielson by interfering in his bout against Nigel McGuiness.
