5 Stars who could represent Team AEW against The Elite at Blood & Guts 2024
Blood and Guts is one of the most ruthless matches AEW has done since its inception. The unforgiving structure is known for brutal and bloodied five-on-five contests. Three editions of the pay-per-view have taken place since 2021.
At this year's Double or Nothing, The Elite, consisting of The Young Bucks, Kazuchika Okada, and Jack Perry, defeated the team of Bryan Danielson, Darby Allin, and FTR in a fierce bout. On the recent edition of Dynamite, The Elite laid out a challenge to the best stars in All Elite Wrestling to face them at Blood and Guts. This event will take place on July 24.
Since The EVPs have taken control over most of the Jacksonville-based promotion, they have made many enemies. It will be interesting to see which stars will stand against the indomitable stars. Also, Team AEW needs one more member to join their team to make it a traditional Blood and Guts match.
Let's take a look at some of the names who could join Team AEW against The Elite.
#5. Will Ospreay is among the best in AEW
The Aerial Assassin has been on top of his game since arriving in All Elite Wrestling in March 2024. He has defeated Bryan Danielson, Roderick Strong, Konosuke Takeshita, and many more stars. At Double or Nothing, he even captured the International Championship.
On the recent edition of Dynamite, The EVPs said the best AEW stars, which could possibly include Will Ospreay. His involvement in the match would certainly elevate the stakes.
#4. Darby Allin
The Relentless star was inserted in Anarchy in the Arena match as a replacement for Eddie Kingston. Despite not being a hundred percent, he gave all his efforts in the contest. Later in the match, he was hung upside down in the middle of the ring by Team Elite and even kicked by The Young Bucks in the face with thumbtacked shoes.
Darby Allin could enter himself in the match to take revenge on The Elite at Blood and Guts. It will be interesting to see if the star is medically cleared to wrestle after the ruthless battle.
#3. Bryan Danielson
Danielson is currently in his final year as a full-time wrestler and has expressed his desire to be active in the remaining months. He recently entered the Owen Hart Foundation tournament.
The American Dragon was also a part of the Anarchy in the Arena match. In fact, he was the star to get pinned by Jack Perry for the victory. It will be interesting to see if Bryan Danielson is among the five stars from Team AEW.
#2. MJF
In the year 2022-23, The Wolf of Wrestling was the face of the company. While he was absent for six months, the EVPs tried to control every aspect of the business.
Being frustrated by the authoritative character, MJF could easily join Team AEW and teach Team Elite their lesson.
#1. Swerve Strickland
Swerve Strickland crossed paths with The Youngs Bucks when they handpicked Christian Cage as his opponent at Dynasty pay-per-view. Since then, The Mogul member has confronted the EVPs several times. On the latest edition of Dynamite, The Elite approached Strickland to be their fifth team member at Blood and Guts, but he refused.
Swerve Strickland joining Team AEW at Blood and Guts seems imminent, as their animosity is evident. Winning this match would also elevate him once again as the top worker in the company.
It will be interesting to see who joins the one spot in Team AEW at Blood and Guts.
