5 Things AEW shouldn’t do at All In 2024

With AEW All In in Wembley Stadium taking place in under a week, all eyes are on the promotion and what is arguably its biggest show of the year. After a record-breaking debut show at the iconic stadium last year, the Jacksonville-based promotion is looking to put on an even bigger one this year.

Several major names will be on the card this year including the likes of Bryan Danielson, Swerve Strickland, Will Ospreay, MJF, Toni Storm, Mercedes Moné, and a whole lot more.

But with all that being said, there have been some concerns over some things done at their past pay-per-views, despite a great reception overall. Here are a few things the company should not do at All In this year.

#5. Killswitch (FKA Luchasaurus) should not turn on Christian Cage just yet

For a few months now, Killswitch has been mistreated by Christian Cage and there have been hints of his frustrations building up. Ever since their partnership began, the former TNT Champion has just served as Christian's muscle, and he has always given in to his demands. But despite his loyal service to him, he has still been the least favored member of the family.

At All In, they will be in a four-way ladder match with the AEW World Trios Titles on the line. Regardless of the result, it can be assumed that Christian Cage will mistreat Killswitch, either by stealing all the credit or placing all the blame on him. In either scenario, this is not the right time for him to turn on Cage. It should come at a moment the veteran least expects, which could be further down in the year.

A pre-mature turn from Killswitch might not have as much of an impact, and whatever goes down at All In could be the fuel that lights up this turn later on.

#4. Have Jack Perry drop the TNT Championship

Despite all the controversies surrounding Jack Perry, he has proven that he is one of the pillars of AEW, even becoming the TNT Champion. His feud with Darby Allin has taken an interesting turn of late, as their match will now be a Coffin Match as Perry wishes to beat Allin at his own game.

All In is not the right time for Perry to lose. He has only been a champion for a month, and he needs to continue to build his credibility as a champion, seeing as he has not put the title on the line against anyone worthwhile. His beating Darby in a Coffin Match adds immense credibility to him as a champion, as this win would be a big statement.

Darby Allin could still go for the TNT Championship, but it would be better to have this take place at WrestleDream, as he could win the title in front of his home state of Washington.

#3. All In is not the right time for Ricochet to make his AEW debut

Talks of Ricochet heading to AEW have been one that has been going all over the wrestling world recently. But when his debut will happen has yet to be determined. Many have speculated that this could be at the Casino Gauntlet match at All In, as most of the entrants in the match have been kept as a surprise. While this will generate a huge pop at the event, it might not be the best booking move.

The winner of the match earns a future title shot, and it would not be wise to debut the former WWE Superstar in a match he could lose. Should he win, it would not make sense as he'll be facing the winner of Bryan Danielson vs. Swerve Strickland, and he has a connection with neither of them so far.

It might be best for him to debut at the AEW Dynamite after All In, where he can start a feud with a different star on the roster, and his debut match at a future pay-per-view would mean more.

#2. Mariah May is not the right person to dethrone Toni Storm

One of the most talked about feuds in AEW right now is between Toni Storm and Mariah May. Although this is arguably the feud with the most heat right now, and Mariah will be competing in front of her home country fans, she is not the right person to dethrone Toni Storm at this point. May is world champion material, but now, it is a matter of timing, and reputation, and she has yet to build herself up to be the next champion.

Storm's successor should come from someone who has established herself as world champion material already, and one name that comes to mind is Jamie Hayter. Looking back at their history, she is the perfect person to dethrone Toni, once she is back and healthy.

Mariah May could still win the AEW Women's Title later on, once she builds up more credibility as one of the bigger names on the roster. But looking at how she's been doing as of late, this could come very soon.

#1 Have Swerve Strickland retire Bryan Danielson at All In

The stakes have been increased for the main event match as Bryan Danielson has put his career on the line in his AEW World Title match against Swerve Strickland.

Despite the champion being on a roll as of late, this is not the right time for Bryan to retire. He has yet to win his first world title since signing with AEW and winning it in Wembley Stadium would be an iconic moment for his career. With him not having the best final year as a professional wrestler, this would be a great start to the final chapter of his career.

Swerve still stands as a perfect candidate to retire Danielson, but AEW All In is not the right venue. He could face The American Dragon once more at WrestleDream in October, where they'll both be in their home state, in what could be Bryan Danielson's perfect retirement match. This could be where he drops the title to Strickland.
