5 things Jon Moxley hasn't accomplished in his career

Jon Moxley has found incredible success in the pro wrestling industry. The Purveyor of Violence was previously a member of the WWE main-roster for seven years before he eventually left the company in 2019. The Deathrider then joined All Elite Wrestling in May 2019 and continues to be a member of the Jacksonville-based promotion to this day.

In terms of in-ring accomplishments, Moxley is one of the most successful individuals of the modern era. During his time in WWE, The Purveyor of Violence won all the major championships, which etched his name in the record books as a Grand Slam Champion. Moxley also captured the Money in the Bank briefcase in 2016, which allowed him to become the WWE Champion eventually.

The Deathrider's AEW run has been equally successful, as he has captured several major titles in the promotion. The Lunatic Fringe is a three-time AEW World Champion, the only star to accomplish this feat. The 38-year-old star has also won the AEW International Championship, a reign that lasted only 17 days.

Jon Moxley has also made his mark in other promotions, having captured the GCW World Championship and the NJPW World Heavyweight Championship. Despite having an exceptional achievement catalog, there are certain things the Ace of AEW has surprisingly never achieved in the wrestling business.

In this article, let's look at five things Jon Moxley has never accomplished in his illustrious career.

#5. Jon Moxley has never won the Royal Rumble match

From 2014 to 2019, Jon Moxley frequently participated in the Royal Rumble match. The Deathrider came close to winning the high-stakes Battle Royal twice, before ultimately falling short of the massive accolade.

While Moxley made it to the final five participants in 2015, he was amongst the last two men standing in the 2016 Royal Rumble with Triple H. If the Lunatic Fringe had outlasted The Cerebral Assassin in 2016, he would have also become the WWE Champion in the process.

Unfortunately, Jon Moxley never won the Royal Rumble match, as his fellow Shield brothers, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins, have won one Rumble match each in their careers. The Purveyor of Violence last appeared in the 30-Man contest in 2019, where he was eliminated by another current AEW Superstar, Malakai Black.

#4. The Deathrider has never won the TNT Championship

Jon Moxley has spent the majority of his time in All Elite Wrestling in the main event scene. The Purveyor of Violence is one of the most consistently pushed talents in the Tony Khan-led company, as he keeps making appearances in the World Title picture from time to time.

Aside from the International Championship, Moxley has rarely targeted any mid-card titles in AEW. The former WWE Champion is yet to get his hands on the TNT Championship, something that he would want to accomplish very soon.

Although he is currently on a hiatus, The Deathrider could set his sights on the reigning TNT Champion once he returns to the squared circle. If Jack Perry manages to survive the threat of Darby Allin at All In, he could find himself the target of Jon Moxley.

#3. Jon Moxley has never won the AEW World Tag Team Championship

A seasoned solo performer, Jon Moxley is equally excellent when it comes to tag team wrestling. During his time in WWE, Jon Moxley held the RAW Tag Team Championships twice alongside his longtime friend, Seth Rollins.

Surprisingly, The Purveyor of Violence has found no success in the AEW Tag Team division. At Double or Nothing 2021, Moxley joined forces with Eddie Kingston to take on the reigning AEW World Tag Team Champions, The Young Bucks.

Despite their best efforts, the duo proved to be no match for a seasoned tag team like The Bucks. After a hard-fought battle, Matt Jackson pinned Jon Moxley in the middle of the ring to retain the AEW World Tag Team Titles.

It is surprising that a multi-time World Champion like Moxley has not been able to conquer the tag team division in AEW. Considering his chemistry with Claudio Castagnoli as a team, the duo must go after the elusive Tag Team Championships once Moxley returns from his hiatus.

#2. The Ace of AEW has never won the G1 Climax

Soon after his WWE departure in 2019, Jon Moxley began making appearances in New Japan Pro Wrestling. In May 2019, The Deathrider dethroned Juice Robinson to become the new IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion.

In June 2019, the Lunatic Fringe announced his entry into NJPW's annual G1 Climax tournament. After being drafted into the B Block division, Moxley went on an undefeated streak, scoring victories over top names like Tomohiro Ishii, Shingo Takagi, and Tetsuya Naito.

Moxley suffered his first loss in the competition against Toru Yano, which derailed all his momentum. The Deathrider then came up short in three consecutive matches, which led to his shocking elimination from the tournament. With five wins under his belt, the 38-year-old star finished the competition with 10 points.

It was the last time the Ace of AEW ever participated in the G1 Climax. Although he has already won the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, The Deathrider would be eager to win the G1 Climax before he is too old to endure such a grueling tournament.

#1. The Purveyor of Violence has never main-evented WrestleMania

Jon Moxley was a consistent performer throughout his run in the WWE. While he did make brief appearances in the main event scene, Vince McMahon never saw the Lunatic Fringe as the face of WWE. After his historic WWE Championship win in the summer of 2016, the creative team took the title off Moxley in just 84 days.

The management consistently pushed Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins as main event talents, while The Deathrider kept floundering in the mid-card division. The Tribal Chief and The Visionary also got to feature in WrestleMania main events, which is something Jon Moxley could never achieve.

In early 2016, fans were quite vocal about seeing Jon Moxley battle Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 32. Unfortunately, the management picked Roman Reigns vs. Triple H to headline the Showcase of Immortals, a decision that received massive backlash from the audience.

Interestingly, WrestleMania 32 was also the last edition of the Show of Shows that had The Lunatic Fringe competing on the main card. At WrestleMania 33, Moxley defended his Intercontinental Championship on the pre-show, which was also his last appearance on the Mania stage.

Despite being a fan-favorite in WWE, The Purveyor of Violence never got the chance to steal the show at the Showcase of Immortals. Main eventing a WrestleMania is a rare accomplishment that eluded the Ace of AEW during his time in WWE.
