5-time champion to quit WWE and debut in AEW as The Hurt Syndicate's next member? Exploring potential twist
The Hurt Syndicate has quickly positioned itself as one of AEW's most dominant factions. It currently comprises former WWE stars Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, and MVP.
The Hurt Syndicate was originally known as The Hurt Business. When the group was under the WWE banner, it was immensely successful. However, the faction had four members at the time. The stable also included Cedric Alexander, who is still signed to the Stamford-based company. Hence, fans might have to wait a little longer before potentially seeing him reunite with his former teammates.
Recently, Alexander was defeated by NXT star Wes Lee in an Iron Survivor Challenge qualifying match. Later, the five-time champion delivered a promo where he said he was in dire need of a change. Therefore, some fans were speculating that he wanted out of the company.
While Cedric Alexander leaving WWE and joining All Elite Wrestling is not going to happen anytime soon, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for him. MVP, Lashley, and Benjamin will likely welcome him with open arms if he decides to jump ship to the Tony Khan-led company and join the dominant stable.
Alexander has been part of the global juggernaut since 2016. In the past eight years, he has held the RAW Tag Team, Cruiserweight, and 24/7 titles.
WWE star Cedric Alexander said "It’s time for a change"
After his recent loss to Wes Lee, Cedric Alexander said that he was an industry veteran and needed to be treated with much more respect than he received. Furthermore, the former Hurt Business member mentioned "It’s time for a change."
"So what’s next for Cedric Alexander? What’s next? I don’t know. I can’t answer that question. But I can tell you one thing, it’s time for a change. I’ve been too nice to the people around here. Everywhere that you want to be, I’ve been. I’ve been to WrestleMania." [H/T: Fightful]
Alexander won the WWE RAW Tag Team Title with Shelton Benjamin when they were part of The Hurt Business. Will the duo reunite in AEW at some point? Only time will tell.
