50-year-old WWE Hall of Famer to make AEW return and dethrone Bryan Danielson next year? Exploring the possibility

A former WWE Superstar could return to AEW and defeat Bryan Danielson for his AEW World Championship next year. The star being discussed is Adam Copeland. He is currently sidelined due to a fractured tibia that he sustained in May this year and he might not be returning to the promotion in 2024.

The American Dragon is regarded as one of the all-time great stars in the wrestling industry. He recently captured the AEW World Championship after defeating Swerve Strickland at All In London. Could an opponent from a previous promotion come after his championship to continue the rivalry?

Adam Copeland and Bryan Danielson are both former WWE champions and were engaged in a brief feud in 2021. On The Road to WrestleMania 37, The Rated-R Superstar interfered during The American Dragon's bout with Roman Reigns, resulting in Danielson inserting himself in the main event of the contest between Copeland and Reigns.

The AEW World Champion is slated to retire as a full-time performer whenever he loses his title. When Copeland finally returns to AEW next year, he could challenge and defeat Danielson for the top prize. Adam is already a two-time TNT Champion and he could find a way to go after the top prize in the Jacksonville-based promotion.

Wheeler Yuta provides an update on Bryan Danielson

At All Out, Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli betrayed The American Dragon. Moxley even suffocated the latter with a plastic bag, while a restrained Wheeler Yuta had to watch him suffer.

In the recent episode of Collision, Yuta claimed that he would not share too much information about his condition out of respect for the star and his family.

“Out of respect for him and Brie and the kids, I don't wanna share too much but he is doing the best that he can. I don't have much of an update, but he is doing the best he can, and I haven't really talked to any of the other guys," he said.

At AEW Grand Slam, the AEW World Champion will face Nigel McGuiness if he is medically cleared to wrestle, rekindling a rivalry thats been running for more than a decade.
