6'3" star to quietly leave AEW and make WWE debut at SummerSlam 2024? Exploring the chances
A top AEW star, who is very popular among fans, hasn't wrestled in over three months. Wardlow may be frustrated by his booking in the Tony Khan-led company. Hence, he can leave the promotion and join WWE later this year. With SummerSlam just around the corner, he can debut on the show and make a massive impact.
The 6 ft 3 in star has been one of the most agile powerhouses in the Jacksonville-based promotion since 2019. However, he has arguably been unable to become a fixture in the main event scene. As a result, he may look to try his luck in the global juggernaut after his contract expires.
The former TNT Champion is currently a part of Adam Cole's Undisputed Kingdom faction. He wrestled his last match against Samoa Joe in March 2024. Meanwhile, a report suggested that Mr. Mayhem wanted to leave All Elite Wrestling.
Many prominent stars like Jade Cargill, Ethan Page, Shawn Spears, and Lexis King have recently switched from AEW to WWE to revitalize their careers. Wardlow could also follow in their footsteps and ink a deal with the Stamford-based promotion.
The three-time TNT Champion could make his blockbuster debut at this year's SummerSlam Premium Live Event and confront his former rival, Cody Rhodes. Wardlow might thrive in WWE by working alongside veterans like Triple H and The American Nightmare.
Cody Rhodes wants to see AEW star Wardlow in WWE
Cody Rhodes helped start All Elite Wrestling alongside Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks. He was an EVP and a top star in the company before his departure in February 2022. Rhodes returned to WWE at WrestleMania 38.
In a chat with Sports Illustrated, The American Nightmare claimed that he would like Mr. Mayhem to join the global juggernaut at some point.
"Wardlow is one I’d like to see cross over if he ever wanted to. There’s a lot of beef in the WWE locker room. It’s a heavyweight locker room," he said.
As of now, this is mere speculation, and there is no confirmation on whether the 36-year-old star will really leave AEW to join WWE in the future.
