6 Early match card predictions for AEW Worlds End 2024
AEW will present this year's edition of the Worlds End pay-per-view later this month in Orlando, Florida. The company has already planted the seeds for matches that could potentially be booked for the event. To that end, it also launched the 2024 Continental Classic last week, with the tournament's league finals and championship finals set to play out at the PPV itself.
The Tony Khan-led promotion will undoubtedly look to end their programming year with a bang. Considering the angles that the company has developed in 2024, a number of high-profile bouts featuring some of AEW's top stars might end up on the card for Worlds End. Let us explore six of these matches and their possible outcomes below.
#1: Continental Classic Tournament Finals: Claudio Castagnoli vs Kazuchika Okada for the Continental Title
After failing to win the Continental Classic last year, Claudio Castagnoli challenged Kazuchika Okada for his Continental Championship on the August 21 episode of AEW Dynamite.
Unfortunately, The Swiss Cyborg failed to defeat The Rainmaker on time, as the duo wrestled to a 20-minute time-limit draw. Castagnoli entered the 2024 iteration of the C2 and started his campaign with a dominant victory over Ricochet.
The 43-year-old veteran could make it to the finals of the prestigious tournament this year, where he could take on Okada in a blockbuster rematch at Worlds End. Furthermore, Castagnoli could defeat the Japanese star and win the Continental Championship, finally enjoying a major crowning moment that would, in turn, add to the legitimacy of The Death Riders.
Prediction: Claudio Castagnoli defeats Kazuchika Okada (c) for the Continental Title
#2: Adam Cole vs Maxwell Jacob Friedman
Adam Cole is still fixated on seeking revenge against MJF. After the latter injured Roderick Strong at Full Gear last month, both The Panama City Playboy and his long-time friend Kyle O'Reilly inserted themselves into this week's Dynamite Dozen Battle Royal for a chance to face Friedman for his Dynamite Diamond Ring.
Cole could be booked to win the aforementioned battle royal and demand a match against his former tag partner at Worlds End 2024.
Notably, it was at Worlds End last year that Cole turned on The Wolf of Wrestling and had The Undisputed Kingdom take him out. Their rivalry could come full circle at the pay-per-view this month and might witness MJF defeating the former NXT Champion to retain his Dynamite Diamond Ring and finally avenge Cole's betrayal of him to conclude their storyline for the time being.
Prediction: MJF defeats Adam Cole
#3: Mercedes Mone vs Kamille for the TBS Title
After tolerating Mercedes Mone's misbehavior and disrespect for weeks, Kamille finally stood up to The CEO and dissolved her working relationship with the latter last week on AEW Dynamite. The Brickhouse seemingly suffered the consequences for her decision soon afterward, as she was found laid out backstage on Rampage.
The former Sasha Banks' recent X/Twitter post could indicate that she was Kamille's assailant. This could lead to the 5 ft 10 in powerhouse challenging Mone for her TBS Championship at Worlds End 2024. The Boss will likely retain her belt against her former muscle, although their rivalry could continue next year.

#4: Mariah May vs Mina Shirakawa for the AEW Women's World Title
Mariah May stunned fans when she tried to blindside her long-time friend and tag team partner, Mina Shirakawa, at Full Gear 2024. The Venus of Pro-Wrestling had turned the tables on The Glamour at the pay-per-view, although May retaliated by assaulting Shirakawa last week on Dynamite.
It was later announced that the two women would compete in the AEW Women's World Championship at Dynamite: Winter is Coming 2024.
The Fighting Princess will, in all probability, retain her belt against her Rose Gold partner on December 11. However, May and Shirakawa may run it back at Worlds End 2024, possibly resulting in the 26-year-old Englishwoman decisively beating Mina. May could then be confronted by a returning Toni Storm post-bout, setting up their rematch for Grand Slam Australia next year.
Prediction: Mariah May (c) defeats Mina Shirakawa for the Women's World Title
#5: Jon Moxley vs Hangman Page vs Jay White vs Christian Cage for the AEW World Title
Both Hangman Page and Jay White intended to pursue the All Elite World Title on the November 27 episode of Dynamite. This prompted Jon Moxley and The Death Riders to ambush both men, although their sights are still set on The One True King of AEW.
With Christian Cage lingering in the background with his guaranteed title contract, rumors have been circulating that the World Championship might be contested in a four-way bout between Mox, Page, White, and Cage at Worlds End.
All three championship contenders are undoubtedly worthy candidates to dethrone Moxley. However, The Purveyor of Violence may be booked to successfully defend the World Title at the upcoming pay-per-view to further The Death Riders' kayfabe domination over the company.
Prediction: Jon Moxley (c) defeats Hangman Page, Jay White, and Christian Cage for the AEW World Championship
#6: Swerve Strickland vs Bobby Lashley II
Bobby Lashley defeated Swerve Strickland last month at Full Gear in the latter's second All Elite Wrestling match.
The New Flavor has vowed to bounce back from the massive loss and may not be finished with The Hurt Syndicate, especially considering his recent backstage scuffle with one of the stable's prospective recruits.
Strickland could thus call out Lashley for a rematch at Worlds End 2024, which could end with The Realest defeating The All-Mighty. This could also lay the groundwork for an enormous rubber match between the two former WWE superstars next year.
Prediction: Swerve Strickland defeats Bobby Lashley
