6ft 1in star to return after 9 months and attack Adam Cole at AEW Winter is Coming 2024? Analyzing the chances
Adam Cole has been on a quest to get his hands on MJF for the past couple of months. He came close to facing The Salt of the Earth at Full Gear 2024. However, he lost his match with Konosuke Takeshita which prevented Cole from facing his former tag team partner.
The Panama City Playboy got another chance to challenge MJF by competing in the Dynamite Dozen Battle Royale. He was one of the final two men along with Kyle O'Reilly. The former Unsidputed Era stablemates will lock horns soon and the winner will face MJF at AEW World's End for the Dynamite Diamond Ring. However, MJF could have another trump card up his sleeve in Wardlow.
The former TNT Champion previously aligned with Cole and the Undisputed Kingdom. The group was responsible for costing Maxwell the AEW World Championship. However, his relationship with the stable turned sour in the weeks that followed. Wardlow competed for the AEW World Championship on the 13th March episode of Dynamite against Samoa Joe and came up short. During this match, the former TNT Champion sustained an injury and has been on the shelf since then. However, Adam Cole showed no mercy for his stablemate and berated him for losing to Joe.
Hence, Wardlow could have a bone to pick with The Panama City Playboy, and given Maxwell's manipulative nature, he could somehow convince the powerhouse to return and attack Cole during his match this week. This would also make sense to Wardlow since he has experienced the most success while being under Maxwell's wing during the early part of his career and could consider reviving his career by reuniting with the former AEW World Champion.
Adam Cole addressed the criticism of his feud with MJF
Adam Cole's feud with MJF has been going on for the past year. The feud has lost a lot of momentum since it was put on hold for several months. Cole sustained an injury towards the end of 2023 which meant that even though he betrayed MJF at World's End last year, both men couldn't further the story with Cole being out of action.
When MJF returned and attacked Cole, the latter still wasn't cleared to compete which again put their feud on hold. Hence, this rivalry has gotten a lot of criticism from fans and critics since it lost a lot of momentum.
During an interview on The Danny Ocean Show, Adam Cole said his feud with MJF needs a definitive conclusion. He also admitted that their story has lost momentum due to injuries that happened and it will take time to regain all the lost steam.
“I just feel that the story that me and MJF told needs a definitive conclusion. Coming back from injury, that’s exactly what I’m hopping into. Of course, you want to make as many people happy as possible. Then sometimes too, with stories, it takes a little bit to get back to where you were because a lot of the stuff that we did was very slow-burn,” he said. [H/T: RingsideNews]
It will be interesting to see if Adam Cole will finally be able to get his hands on Maxwell Jacob Friedman.
