Absent star, Hall of Famer - 4 dream AEW opponents for Bobby Lashley if he leaves WWE

The wrestling world recently discovered that Bobby Lashley has been removed from WWE's internal roster page. Moreover, Sean Ross Sapp of Fighful reported that his contract is coming up short soon.

With this revelation, the wrestling world is buzzing with the rumors of The All Mighty leaving WWE to join AEW. While there is no certainty that he will land in the Tony Khan-led company, the possibility of it is also not zero.

Khan is always on the hunt to add quality talents to his roster and Bobby Lashley will undoubtedly be a great addition to his wrestling family. With that being said, let us discuss who the 48-year-old wrestler might face in AEW if he joins the promotion. Here are the names of his four potential dream opponents.

#1 Miro

Bobby Lashley has quite a history with Miro. The latter was a WWE Superstar and performed under the ring name Rusev before becoming All Elite. These two superstars started a rivalry in the second half of 2019.

The storyline started with The Real Deal kissing Rusev's wife, Lana (aka CJ Perry). He and Perry then tormented Miro for many months. The feud ended in February 2020, when he teamed with Angel Garza to beat Rusev and Humberto Carrillo on RAW.

Miro has been absent from AEW TV for almost seven months. His last match was at the 2023 Worlds End PPV in December where he defeated Andrade El Idolo. Thus, a feud with Bobby Lashley could be a great way to reintroduce him on TV.

#2 Adam Copeland

Another star who would be a perfect fit for Lashley's dream opponent in AEW would be WWE Hall of Famer Adam Copeland. Surprisingly, the two stars have never crossed paths before in WWE, even though the match would have been a huge draw if it had happened.

Well, if the two-time WWE Champion does sign with AEW, Khan will have a great opportunity to pit the two stars against each other. Both Bobby Lashley and Copeland use the Spear as their finishing moves and have used it to win several titles. If they collide, the fans could witness an epic Battle of Spears.

Copeland is currently out of action after suffering an injury at AEW Double or Nothing. He fractured his tibia during the match after a risky cage dive into his opponent, Malakai Black.

#3 Swerve Strickland

With the AEW World Championship on his shoulders, Swerve Strickland is one of the top guys in the Jacksonville-based promotion. The All Mighty is already a big star. Therefore, if he arrives in AEW, he could go straight for the gold.

For instance, when former WWE star Mercedes Mone joined AEW, her target was the TBS Championship. Bobby Lashley could plan to do the same and set his eyes on The Realest Star upon his arrival in the company.

#4 Jon Moxley

Just like Miro, Bobby Lashley also has a history with Jon Moxley in WWE. He was involved in a rivalry with The Shield when the stable was about to get dismantled in 2019.

The God of Thunder didn't have a direct feud with The Hounds of Justice but was featured in many different spots against the stable. Since Moxley is the only one from Shield in AEW right now, Lashley could target him if or when he joins AEW.

While Moxley is known for his hardcore approach to wrestling, Lashley has a background in MMA and is a powerhouse with lightning-quick reflexes. It'll be interesting to see who comes out on top if the two meet in AEW, especially if there are no disqualifications involved.
