Adam Copeland (FKA Edge) to return at Full Gear and shockingly turn heel on top AEW star? Exploring potential twist

WWE Hall of Famer Adam Copeland (Fka Edge) could finally return at AEW Full Gear and shockingly turn heel. Copeland has been out of action since May 2024.

The Rated R Superstar fractured his tibia during his successful TNT Championship defense in a Barbed Wire Steel Cage Match against Malakai Black at Double or Nothing 2024. The veteran had to relinquish his TNT Title due to injury and has been out of action ever since. However, Copeland could return at Full Gear 2024 and turn heel on Daniel Garcia.

The Dragon Slayer will challenge Jack Perry for the TNT Championship at Full Gear this weekend. Assuming Garcia captures the title from The Scapegoat, he could be confronted by a returning Adam Copeland. However, The Rated R Superstar could show his true colors by attacking the 26-year-old and turning heel.

Copeland made his AEW debut at WrestleDream 2023 and has since been a babyface. The WWE Hall of Famer potentially turning heel upon his return could add another layer to his character.

The Rated R Superstar could go after the TNT Title he never lost. He could destroy a beloved babyface in the form of Daniel Garcia and establish himself as a heel. That said, the angle is speculative at this point.

Adam Copeland provided a medical update two months ago

Amid his absence from the squared circle, Adam Copeland opened up about his condition after the injury in September 2024. In an interview with amNewYork Metro, the erstwhile Edge revealed that he felt good and that his recovery process was in the right direction.

"It feels good; it still doesn’t have the full strength back yet. The explosion isn’t there; the full mobility isn't back yet. I was able to get in the ring and kind of roll around a little bit just to see where it’s at. I felt some of the deficiency; it still isn’t up to it, but it is in the right direction," he said.

Only time will tell when the former TNT Champion will return to AEW TV.
