The last match I did was against Statlander at Penn State. I knew then. I got through the match, she's fantastic, she's one of my favorite competitors. I knew after that, 'I'm done'. I need to take a step back and rehab some stuff.' I've had so many [injuries]. I broke my leg, I broke my wrist, I broke my nose. My back. In a two year span. Darby Allin is one of the most daring wrestlers to ever grace the sport of professional wrestling. The AEW star has pulled off crazy stunts for the fans and the love of the sport throughout his career.

Darby Allin spoke on the Flickering Myth podcast and indicated that it was none other than Mick Foley who made him want to get into wrestling in the first place before he fell in love with Dean Malenko's technician style after becoming a wrestling fan.

"As a kid watching it, I'd probably say I think like Mick Foley in the Hell in a Cell match, just because as a kid — it's funny because as a kid I used to think like 'oh my god like crazy stunts, it's so awesome,' but then when I actually got into wrestling, that's when I started respecting more of the Dean Malenko's and the technical wrestlers you know? But as a kid, that's kind of my goal with my wrestling is someone that's a non-wrestling fan can be watching me and like 'holy s**t that guy's insane,' but the fans who are actually wrestling fans can be like 'well he knows actually how to like technically wrestle and he knows how to actually wrestle.' So it's kind of fun to catch attention." [H/T WrestlingInc.]

So if you're looking at facts and figures, there's really nothing left to accomplish for me. If you're looking for just continuing to enjoy what I'm doing and create, like I said, cool moments for people to remember and cheer for or boofor, whatever it may be. Um, that's basically what I have left to accomplish. " [H/T Fightful]
