AEW star Adam Copeland to make blockbuster return to help ex-WWE name win major title?
Adam Copeland is currently out of action due to a leg injury he suffered during his match against Malakai Black at AEW Double or Nothing 2024. He hasn't been seen on TV in months, but his return could happen soon.
Matt Cardona showed up on ROH last week and confronted Chris Jericho. It was then announced that Jericho would defend his ROH World Championship against Cardona at Final Battle. This matchup will be one of the biggest bouts of his entire career. However, beating Chris Jericho seems like an uphill task, even for the Indy God. Jericho has his Learning Tree stablemates to help him cheat to win. Hence, Cardona needs to find someone who can help him in the match.
This is where Adam Copeland could come in. Copeland and Matt Cardona have a lot of history together. Cardona got his big break in WWE as one-half of the Edgeheads. He was also involved in a stable with the Rated-R Superstar. These two men are even good friends in real life. In fact, Copeland played a big part in Cardona making his return to AEW.
"A few months ago, he was doing his Cope Open, and I shot him a text. I shot my shot. I don’t know if this has been said publicly. But I said, basically, I’m paraphrasing here, something like, 'Gotta shoot my shot here. You got the Cope Open; this is my dream match. I would really appreciate it if you’d consider me as a challenger!' Given their history together, it's only fitting that Copeland returns from injury to help his friend overcome the Learning Tree and win the ROH World Championship. Tony Khan could then use this friendship angle to possibly build out a long storyline between Matt Cardona, Copeland, and Jericho.

The life of a wrestler is never easy. They are always on the road, traveling from one town to another. Most wrestlers don't get to spend time with their families for weeks due to their busy schedules. However, when a wrestler gets injured, they finally get to stay at home with their family. Adam Copeland is going through this as he recovers from an injury. However, he is making the most of his time away from the ring.
Copeland recently took to social media to share a picture of a Hello Kitty trunk he made for his daughter. Based on the post, it looks like he is enjoying quality family time.
"Dad upcycle season. This was a Little Mermaid trunk. 'Dad, I’m not into The Little Mermaid now! I’d like, 'Hello Kitty;' Done, kid! Sorry, Ariel!" he wrote.
