After Danhausen, 4 AEW stars Tony Khan could bring back in 2024
AEW star Danhausen returned to the company after almost a year of absence. He last wrestled at the Worlds End pay-per-view in December 2023. For the entire year, fans speculated why the star was absent despite being fully healthy. He was regularly booked on various independent promotions but wasn't featured on AEW.
The Kid Curious made his comeback at Tony Khan's promotion ROH tonight. On the Final Battle pay-per-view, MxM's Mansoor was set to face Atlantis Jr. The match was filled with shenanigans as Mason tried to intervene as much as possible. To even the odds, Dahausen appeared from under the ring, confronted Mason, and helped Atlantis gain the upper hand in the bout.
The Very Nice Very Evil received a huge pop from the crowd in the Hammerstein Ballroom. In the end, Atlantis won the match. Many were shocked to see Danhausen in Tony Khan's company, as a recent report claimed that the star declined to work on Collision due to personal issues.
Let's take a look at some of the huge names who could return to the Jacksonville-based promotion following Dahausen's comeback.
#4. Wardlow
Mr. Mayhem was rumored to be taking time off from AEW due to creative decisions, but it turns out he has been injured. He has been on a hiatus for most of 2024, and recently, his Undisputed Kingdom stablemate Matt Taven stated that the powerhouse is recovering from a knee injury.
While no concrete report of his return is provided, he might return to AEW before 2024 ends. Before the hiatus, a feud between him and Adam Cole was teased, and the company could resume the rivalry when Wardlow returns.
#3. Saraya
The former AEW Women's World Champion hasn't been seen on the company since October 2024 after losing a Fatal-four-way contest. She was last seen at an awards show and claimed that she would likely attend more events like these for the time being.
Saraya could return at Worlds End pay-per-view and resume her rivalry with Jamie Hayter. The last time they were engaged in a rivalry, Hayter had the upper hand.
#2. Ricky Starks
The Absolute star has been absent from the Jacksonville-based promotion since March 2024. In multiple interviews during his hiatus, he claimed that he was unaware of why he wasn't featured on TV. He was also pulled from his GCW booking a couple of months back.
With Danhausen back in the fold, Ricky Starks should also return to the company before the Worlds End pay-per-view, as fans have been asking for his return. His contract with the company doesn't expire before the summer of 2025.
#1. Kenny Omega finally returns to AEW
The Cleaner might return to the Jacksonville-based promotion very soon, as AEW recently advertised his comeback on the latest edition of Dynamite. He suffered diverticulitis in December 2023 and has been out for more than a year. He will be making his in-ring return to NJPW X AEW Wrestle Dynasty against Gabe Kidd.
A recent report claimed that Kenny Omega could return to the company at Worlds End pay-per-view. Only time will tell if the Best Bout Machine appears at the last event of 2024.
It remains to be seen who else could return to the Jacksonville-based promotion before 2024 ends.
