Becky Lynch to make AEW debut, massive betrayal, new signing - 5 things that could happen on first anniversary of Collision

The upcoming episode of AEW Collision will mark the first anniversary of the Saturday Night Show. Having made its debut in June 2023, Collision has established itself as the home of quality professional wrestling.

Originally envisioned as a CM Punk-led weekly show, Collision has continued to thrive despite The Best in The World's departure. To celebrate the first anniversary of the AEW's second-ranked weekly product, Tony Khan will look to deliver a memorable Collision episode this coming Saturday.

In this article, let's look at five things that could occur in the latest episode of AEW Collision:

#5. Becky Lynch debuts in All Elite Wrestling

With the recent expiration of her WWE contract, Becky Lynch is no longer a part of the Stamford-based promotion. The Man is seemingly on a hiatus from the squared circle, and it is unclear where she will end up next.

Having accomplished almost everything in WWE, Becky Lynch may want to test her limits elsewhere. With Collision celebrating its first anniversary this week, now might be the best time for Tony Khan to bring in Big Time Becks to All Elite Wrestling.

Adding Lynch to a budding AEW women's roster will significantly boost the star power of the division. While the first-ever Collision episode was centered around the return of CM Punk, the show's first anniversary could be headlined by the debut of The Man.

#4. Ricky Starks returns to join Team AEW

Ricky Starks' last appearance on AEW television came in March 2024. Since then, The Absolute One has remained off television, with fans eagerly waiting for his return to the squared circle.

Tony Khan recently commented on the former FTW Champion, hailing him for his contributions to the Jacksonville-based promotion over the last few years. With rumors of Ricky Starks' potential interest in a WWE deal going around, the Jacksonville Jaguars' owner would do everything in his power to keep the talented star on his roster.

Starks could return on the upcoming episode of Collision to insert himself in the ongoing rivalry between The Elite and Team AEW.

The babyface team is set to battle the tyrant group in a Blood and Guts Match at the namesake pay-per-view, which would be the perfect match for The Absolute One to propel himself into the main event picture.

#3. Killswitch turns on Christian Cage on Collision

Christian Cage was one of the highlights of Collision's first year of programming. Captain Charisma played a key role in rebuilding the Saturday night show after CM Punk's departure.

The former TNT Champion is scheduled to appear in a "Father's Day special" segment on the upcoming episode of Collision. Over the last two years, Christian Cage has taken two stars under his wing: Killswitch (FKA Luchasauras) and Nick Wayne, whom he may address in his latest appearance.

After a long-standing alliance with the leader of The Patriarchy, Killswitch may cut his ties with Cage on this week's Collision. While he has consistently performed under Cage's leadership, Killswitch has failed to come out of his leader's shadow.

With Christian Cage hoping for a memorable Father's Day, the former Jurassic Express member could pull off a swerve and attack the fatherly figure on Collision.

#4. Tetsuya Naito confronts Jon Moxley before their match at Forbidden Door 2024

Jon Moxley currently holds the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. After dethroning Tetsuya Naito in an intense contest at NJPW's Windy City Riot event, the erstwhile Dean Ambrose is set to compete in a rematch against The Red Comet at Forbidden Door 2024.

Adding more spice to their rivalry, Tetsuya Naito could make a trip to Collision this week. With Collision being the unofficial home ground of The Blackpool Combat Club, Naito could make a big statement by confronting The Purveyor of Violence.

#1. Mace and Mansoor arrive at AEW Collision

As per recent reports, former WWE stars Mason Madden (FKA Mace) and Mansoor are set to be in Youngstown, Ohio, this week for AEW Collision.

After exploring the independent scene for about a year, the duo recently held negotiations with several promotions, and it seems at the moment that the duo is AEW-bound.

Known as MxM on the indie circuit, Madden and Mansoor's addition will help strengthen AEW's Tag Team division. With FTR set to be out of action for an indefinite period, MxM could step up in their absence to fill the void left by the former multi-time Tag Team Champions.
