Big return, former WWE Superstar debuts? - 5 stars who could accept Adam Copeland's open challenge on AEW Collision
AEW's Adam Copeland threw an open challenge and put every wrestler on notice. Copeland's 'Cope Open' has him questioning who would like to step up and wrestle him in the ring.
He cut a stellar picture striding all around the ring with a mic in hand. In this article, we look at five wrestlers on the roster who'd be perfect competitors for him.
#5. PAC's intensity against The Rated R Superstar's rage could be an entertaining evening
PAC, known for his aerial assaults, could be the perfect person to stand up to the open challenge.
Adam Copeland won the TNT Championship for a brief moment at Worlds End and has the instinct and the skill to elevate any wrestler that he works with. The Man That Gravity Forgot, who had a stellar run in WWE, could be the perfect foil to create a memorable, if not legendary, match.
#4. Mustafa Ali could make his AEW debut by answering the challenge
If Tony Khan is looking for multiple pops in a single night, he should bring in former WWE Superstar Mustafa Ali to answer The Rated R Superstar's challenge. Ali was suddenly bid adieu to by WWE last year.
Ali has enough in the tank to have not one, but several matches with one of the most talented names on the roster. The man known for his high-risk maneuvers is another perfect opponent for the wrestler formerly known as Edge. All it would take is some doing on Tony Khan's part.
Wrestling fans are eagerly waiting for his comeback, and what better a comeback than one against a legendary wrestler?
#3. Nick Wayne facing Adam Copeland would be a revelation for the audience and The Patriarchy
Adam Copeland made his debut in the Jacksonville-based company at WrestleDream when he stopped The Patriarchy from handing a beat-down to Sting. The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion is also hunting for the TNT championship.
Copeland and Christian, the current and now two-time AEW TNT Champion, have had a match already. Adam launching into one of his iconic moves against the young Nick Wayne will be a sight to behold.
#2. Action Andretti could have an intriguing feud with Copeland
The five-time WWE Intercontinental Champion understands the business. One of the first rules for the veterans of the business is to put over young wrestlers with the crowd, and Action Andretti is the perfect candidate for that.
AEW's Action Andretti has everything going for him, and all he needs is one big storyline that puts him front and center of the crowd's mind and gaze. A match with Adam Copeland will accomplish that and more.
#1. Parker Boudreaux should be the next big name with Copeland
Parker Boudreaux should be one of the biggest names in wrestling sometime down the line. He's been with the WWE on a developmental contract. Wrestling audiences have also seen what he can do in AEW Dark, Elevation, and Rampage.
He was part of the now-inactive Trustbusters. He is, on all accounts, ready for the match against the first winner of WWE's Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
