Did CM Punk take a shot at major AEW star following WWE Saturday Night's Main Event? Possibility explored
CM Punk was signed to AEW from 2021 to 2023. The Best in The World had a good run in the Jacksonville-based company as he held the AEW World Championship twice. Unfortunately, his time there ended on a bad note.
The 46-year-old is currently signed to WWE. Recently, the Stamford-based company held Saturday Night's Main Event XXXVII at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. It featured six matches (including a non-televised tag team match) and was a memorable show.
Interestingly, the promotion released a digital exclusive clip from SNME in which CM Punk was seen interacting with Jackie Redmond and Peter Rosenberg. In the clip, he expressed his displeasure with the term “moveset.”
"It’s garbage! If you say that, you’re an idiot! Especially if you’re a wrestler, and you say ‘moveset,’ that 100% tells me you don’t know what the hell you’re doing," The Best in The World said. [H/T: Wrestling Headlines]
Several fans believed that the above statement was a dig at "Hangman" Adam Page because a few days ago, the AEW star mentioned the term "moveset" on the social media platform Bluesky.
"I hope the next person they give half my moveset to is at least kinda cool," Page wrote after Logan Paul announced his WWE retirement.
CM Punk and "Hangman" Adam Page are controversial wrestling figures. However, the former's statement was not directed towards the 33-year-old. The Second City Saint has hated the above-mentioned term for years.
Here is Punk throwing shade at the term during an exchange with a fan on X in 2021.
CM Punk's career accomplishments
The Voice of The Voiceless has won titles across promotions during his decorated career. He is a former ROH World Champion and has also held the promotion's tag team championship twice with Colt Cabana.
In the Stamford-based promotion, CM Punk is a two-time WWE Champion, a three-time World Heavyweight Champion, a one-time ECW Champion, a one-time Intercontinental Champion, and a one-time World Tag Team Champion. He also won the 2008 and 2009 Money in the Bank briefcases.
It will be interesting to see if Punk adds another world title to his kitty in the coming months.
