Ex-rival's revenge; early return? - 5 finishes to Kenny Omega vs. Brian Cage on AEW Dynamite: Maximum Carnage

Kenny Omega is back and he looks better than ever. The former AEW World Champion made his long awaited return at Wrestle Dynasty on January 5 in Tokyo and defeated Gabe Kidd in a very hard-hitting match.

Omega is yet to have a match on AEW and that will take place this coming Wednesday when he takes on Brian Cage on Dynamite: Maximum Carnage. There are a lot of things that can happen when the two powerhouses meet.

In this article, we will take a look at five such finishes that will happen when Omega takes on Cage.

#5. Kenny Omega wins easily

Kenny Omega showed no signs of ring rust when he took on Gabe Kidd at Wrestle Dynasty at the Tokyo Dome. It was a match that went on for more than 30 minutes and it was a testament to how good Omega’s conditioning was.

Given his showing in Japan, it should come as no surprise if the former AEW World Champion picks up an easy win and continues his momentum into the new year.

#4. The Young Bucks return and cause a DQ

The Young Bucks have a long and storied history with Kenny Omega. Along with him, they are the Executive Vice Presidents of the company. Things have gone sour among them especially since The Bucks turned heel.

They even kicked him out of The Elite last year in what was a shocking move. The Bucks have not been seen in AEW ever since they dropped their tag team titles to Private Party. With their return long overdue, one can expect them to return and cause a disqualification by attacking Omega and sending a message.

#3. Kazuchika Okada costs Kenny Omega the match

Kenny Omega was replaced by Kazuchika Okada in The Elite and there is a clear rivalry among the two stars. Given their history, it was surprising to see Kenny hand out the Continental Championship to Okada at Worlds End.

That was not the first time fans saw the two of them come face to face and that is where their rivalry comes into the picture. Okada can cause a distraction and cost Omega the match against Cage and start a feud with him in the process.

#2. Don Callis sends Kyle Fletcher to attack Omega

Don Callis has a chequered history with Omega. He was by his side when he was world champion but later on turned on him in shocking circumstances. Things have not been the same between them ever since.

With Kyle Fletcher firmly in contention to become the next breakout star, Callis can send him out to attack Omega and set up a new rivalry.

#1. MJF attacks Kenny Omega after the match

Kenny Omega called out pretty much the entire AEW locker room after he made his return to wrestling earlier this month at Wrestle Dynasty. In that promo, he said he was coming for everyone.

If there is one person in the AEW locker room that will take offense to that, it is MJF. The loud mouth is known to have a short fuse and it should not surprise anyone if he shows up after the match to confront Omega. Things could heat up quickly if both stars target the AEW World Title in the coming days.
