Ex-WWE star to join forces with Swerve Strickland during his feud against The Hurt Syndicate? Looking at the chances
Swerve Strickland is slated to take on Bobby Lashley at AEW Full Gear. The event will take place on November 23, 2024, at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
The All Mighty made his AEW debut on Fright Night Dynamite. Upon his arrival, he immediately attacked The Realest for refusing MVP's offer to join The Hurt Syndicate. The two parties have now become rivals. While Lashley has Shelton Benjamin and MVP on his side, Strickland only has Prince Nana. That said, absent star Keith Lee could return to align with the former AEW World Champion.
Strickland and Lee have a lot of history together. They were tag team partners and called themselves Swerve In Our Glory until the former turned on the latter in December 2022. They even won the AEW World Tag Team Championship once and had remarkable chemistry as teammates.
The Limitless One has been absent from AEW since last year due to an undisclosed medical issue. His last match in the company took place on the December 23 edition of Collision, where he defeated Brian Cage. Lee was initially set to face Swerve Strickland at Worlds End on December 30, 2023. But he was pulled from the match and replaced by Dustin Rhodes.
If the former WWE star is cleared to compete, he could help Strickland even the odds in his feud against The Hurt Syndicate.
Swerve Strickland vs. Bobby Lashley at Full Gear 2024 could get canceled
On X/Twitter, Swerve Strickland recently shared a picture of an X-ray of his damaged shoulder after he was assaulted by The Hurt Syndicate. Last week, MVP disclosed that Bobby Lashley wasn't fully fit after his latest surgery.
The abovementioned factors could compel officials to cancel the singles bout between Lashley and Strickland at AEW Full Gear 2024. However, as of this writing, the match is still set to take place on November 23. Lashley will make his in-ring debut for the promotion at the upcoming pay-per-view.
