Former AEW champion to undergo major character change and leave The House of Black? Exploring the possibility
An AEW star could leave The House of Black faction and undergo a massive transformation in the coming months. The star being discussed is Buddy Matthews.
The Malakai Black-led faction was formed in 2022 with his arrival in the Jacksonville-based promotion. He was later joined by Buddy Matthews, Julia Hart, and Brody King. As many fans know, Buddy was an incredible singles star in WWE but didn't get pushed enough. However, he has been stuck in the trio's division since his arrival at AEW.
After being frustrated with his run, Matthews could ask Malakai to let him go out of the faction. The latter would bluntly reject his request, leading to his anger slowly building up. It would finally explode, and he could ambush Malakai Black and Brody King. He could also turn a massively over babyface in the process.
Malakai Black and Buddy Matthews could square off at Grand Slam Australia 2025, which is in the latter's home country. The announcement was made a couple of weeks ago, and the 35-year-old star could represent All Elite Wrestling in Australia. Buddy could take the win in this contest, and AEW would receive top ratings.

The 35-year-old has been one of the great technicians in the ring and has worked with top stars in WWE.
While speaking on his Instagram live session, he named Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins as the two stars he would put on Mount Rushmore.
"I think my Mount Rushmore changes over the years... But growing up my Mout Rushmore would've been Rock, Austin, Jeff Hardy, and probably like Road Dogg or Billy Gunn. I've really connected with those guys. But as I've become more into the business, when I look at the work as it's said, you're looking at probably Roman, Seth... And this is coming to work," he said.
It remains to be seen if Buddy Matthews really betrays Malakai Black in the future.
