Former WWE Champion to return and cost Jon Moxley AEW title shot at Dynamite: Grand Slam? Exploring the possibility

Jon Moxley has been on a tear ever since turning heel. From randomly attacking wrestlers backstage to turning on his former stable mate, Bryan Danielson, he has done it all in a short span of time.

The former Shield member is hell-bent on getting to the top of AEW once again and it seems like he won't stop at anything to achieve that. His next target is Darby Allin, whom he will take on at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam for his world title opportunity.

Now, Darby Allin is not one to back down from a challenge and this one will be his biggest one yet, given that the stakes are so high. However, there is one personality that could make his return at AEW Grand Slam and help Allin, and in the process, cost Jon Moxley the title shot.

That is none other than the AEW World Champion, Bryan Danielson himself. Bryan has not been seen on AEW TV ever since he was taken out with a plastic bag at All Out. Bryan coming back and costing Moxley the match would be great for the storyline and will ensure that the fans get to see the story play out for a few more months to come. It will also ensure quality interaction between the former BCC members.

WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long slams Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson spot

Former WWE star Teddy Long has criticized the plastic bag spot involving Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson at All Out that sparked a lot of controversy and AEW received a lot of flak.

Recently, Teddy Long gave his opinion exclusively to Sportskeeda’s The Wrestling Time Machine podcast where he said that it was not pro wrestling. He said:

"I don't really know what to say, like they're trying to do something that nobody else has done to gain attention and maybe also to capture the audience. Right at the beginning, you can't put a plastic bag over someone's head when you got kids watching. They don't know if it was real or not. I have a lot of respect for Jon Moxley and Daniel Bryan [Bryan Danielson]. I love both of those guys, I had the opportunity to work with both of them and I have the utmost respect for them. But, you know, I don't understand who's making the last decision on stuff."

It really was not a pleasant thing to see and one will hope that Tony Khan has taken feedback positively when it comes to pulling off such stunts again.
