Former WWE name to debut in AEW and immediately help Ricochet win top title? Exploring the possibility
Ever since Ricochet's WWE run ended, he has been on a roll. He made his AEW debut earlier this year at the All-In Pay-Per-View in the iconic Wembley Stadium in London. Furthermore, he challenged for the AEW International Championship in a three-way match against Konosuke Takeshita and Will Ospreay at WrestleDream.
The One and Only currently has an ample amount of momentum. Tony Khan will certainly want to capitalize on it. Giving him the International Championship could be a good move. However, it is currently held by Takeshita. If the two wrestlers go one-on-one, they will probably deliver a five-star match. Interestingly, this showdown could be a perfect way for the former WWE United States Champion's fiancee Samantha Irvin to make her AEW debut.
Popular ring announcer Samantha Irvin recently left the WWE. It is not known what the future holds for her, but fans would love to see her in All Elite Wrestling. In the hypothetical match mentioned above, Irvin could interfere and cost Takeshita the match and the International Championship. This would allow the wrestling world to see the former WWE stars/real-life couple in a never-before-seen version.
Ricochet explains the main reason why he joined AEW
In a conversation with Sports Illustrated's The Takedown, Ricochet explained that the main reason why he joined AEW was his desire to travel the world. He reportedly did that a lot when his career had just started and missed doing it.
"Honestly, the biggest reason is that I've been doing this for a long time, 21 years this year. And for me, the time when I was like, having the most fun in my career was when I was, like, traveling the world with those crazy lunatics in the back there. It's literally the time when I was having the most fun," said Ricochet.
At Wrestle Dynasty, the 36-year-old will lock horns with the reigning IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Zack Sabre Jr.
