Former WWE star to debut in AEW this week as a surprise entrant in Owen Hart Cup? Exploring the possibility
A former WWE Superstar could debut on this week's AEW Dynamite. The star being discussed is Ricochet.
The former Intercontinental Champion was written off the TV after Bron Breakker brutally attacked him on RAW's June 10 episode. He is reportedly a free agent and is added to WWE's Alumni section, confirming his departure from the company. Reports also suggested that he is heading to AEW in the future. Nothing has been made official yet.
The Owen Hart Foundation Tournament has already begun, and Bryan Danielson, PAC, and Jay White have punched their ticket to the semifinals. Bryan and PAC will face each other, and the winner will move on to the final round of the competition.
Meanwhile, Jeff Jarrett is set to face a wild card entry in the quarterfinals this week, the winner of which will face Jay White in the semifinals. There is a massive possibility that Ricochet could be the surprise entry in the Owens Hart Tournament on AEW Dynamite this Wednesday, as he is free to debut or appear in any promotion.
It should be noted that since Ricochet's contract had expired, there is no 90-day no-compete clause. He is ready to perform in any promotion he wants to.
AEW star Will Ospreay has remained in touch with Ricochet
The Highlight of the Night has been good friends with Will Ospreay for years. The Aerial Assassin also teased his arrival in the Jacksonville-based promotion a few weeks ago.
Speaking on SHAK Wrestling, the International Champion revealed he is in touch with Ricochet, but they never discussed him switching promotions.
"Honestly, so I've said this to a lot of people recently. I've been shouting his name off in the distance for years and I really do mean years. And it's only now, just because his contract is coming up, people are thinking something's gonna happen. Listen, I speak to Ricochet every now and then," Ospreay said.
It will be interesting to see if the former Intercontinental Champion will show up at Tony Khan-led promotion in the future.
