Former WWE Superstar to make AEW debut and unveil himself as the new Devil at All In? Exploring the chances
AEW has many former WWE stars with varying degrees of success. Regardless of their success, they have gotten a chance to show their skills in the ring.
One of the most pressing issues in AEW is the continuity factor. Fans have sometimes called out how the storylines were put together at the last minute, such as how Adam Cole’s rivalry with MJF turned out.
Cole revealed himself to be the Devil and turned on MJF. Then MJF went on a hiatus, Adam got injured, and the story lost momentum. Now, Tony Khan has the opportunity to bring the Devil storyline back into the mainstream again.
This time, he could be doing it by signing a former WWE Superstar.
Former WWE star Mustafa Ali could be the new Devil
Former WWE star Mustafa Ali has had a career resurgence ever since he left the Stamford-based promotion. He has gone on to have great matches on the independent scene and was also the TNA X Division Champion.
He took to Twitter to message his fans that he would leave the company as he had to fulfill his independent obligations for the remainder of his term.
This could be the perfect opportunity for Tony Khan to approach Ali and give him a role in the company.
Ali could make his debut at All In
AEW All In is right around the corner, and it promises to be one of the year's best shows again. MJF has fully embraced his heel persona and will put his newly won American Championship on the line against Will Ospreay.
Knowing MJF, he will pull out all the stops to get the win. However, he could be thwarted by Mustafa Ali, who could show up as the new Devil. That could set up a triple-threat match between Ali, MJF, and Will Ospreay, and the fans would be the real winners.
The Adam Cole factor
With the former WWE star as the new Devil, Adam Cole should be free to embrace a new chapter when he makes his long-awaited return. His run as the Devil has fallen flat on its face, and he could use a new gimmick.
Or even better, he could embrace his old gimmick, focus on staying healthy, and look to get a shot at the AEW World Title soon.
