Former WWE United States Champion to join AEW and retire Chris Jericho in 2025? Exploring the chances

Fans might see a former WWE United States Champion join AEW soon. The said star would be a perfect fit to retire Chris Jericho in 2025. The star in question is Kevin Owens.

It has been reported that KO's current deal with WWE will be coming up by the end of the year. WWE has already offered him a new contract but he hasn't signed on the dotted line yet. Furthermore, it was also reported that AEW head Tony Khan is interested in signing him if the latter chooses to part ways with the Stamford-based promotion.

A few months ago in July, Chris Jericho commented on his retirement plans. He stated that he has no plan to retire yet. However, in wrestling, fans can never be certain. For instance, fans thought Bryan Danielson would retire after the 2024 All In but saw him winning the AEW World Championship instead.

The Demo God has been in the wrestling business for a long time. He has accomplished almost everything that there is to win in the industry. Therefore, Jericho deciding to hang up his wrestling boots in 2025 would not come as a shock.

If The Prizefighter doesn't re-sign with WWE then AEW will surely go out of the way to acquire him. Also, Chris Jericho would be an ideal first opponent for Kevin Owens if the latter arrives in AEW. The two have a storied rivalry from their days in WWE. Therefore, KO would also be the perfect man to retire The Ocho.
