If Bobby Lashley signs with AEW, there’s only one man who should be his first opponent
Bobby Lashley is one of the most talked about performers in the wrestling world currently. It is not because of his abilities in the squared circle, but because his contract with the WWE is due to expire soon.
There are reports that his deal could end as soon as next weekend, which works out perfectly for AEW and Tony Khan. That is because they can get to sign him up and add him to their already star-studded locker room. If he does make it to AEW, there are a lot of names that could be his first potential opponents.
However, there is one name that stands head and shoulders above the rest and he is one of, if not the biggest name in AEW.
It’s Jon Moxley!
Jon Moxley is AEW’s biggest star but the surprising thing is that he is yet to be booked for a match at the upcoming All In pay-per-view event at Wembley Stadium. The PPV is the Jacksonville-based promotion's biggest event of the year and not having Tony Khan's biggest star there would be a massive letdown.
That is where Bobby Lashley comes into the picture. The Almighty could show up at All In and throw up an open invitation and that could be answered by Jon Moxley.
Bobby Lashley deserves a top first feud
Bobby Lashley is a very talented wrestler and it is only right that someone like him should be getting a great first feud. He could very well wrestle other stars further down the line, but right now, Moxley is the one that makes the most sense.
Both of them are among the best heavyweights and have had experiences of performing in front of large audiences. Having the two of them take on each other is the safest thing that Tony Khan could book.
The Wembley crowd deserves a great show
Several matches that are going to take place at All In could be deemed great and the crowd is expected to be as exceptional as the previous year. Hometown heroes, Will Ospreay and Mariah May will no doubt steal the headlines but there needs to be an impromptu pop.
That can only happen if Bobby Lashley shows up and then takes on Jon Moxley as his first opponent. That would give him the push he needs and the respect that his name deserves.
