There's a good chance that Jeff Hardy will have a re-birth in AEW
They say that some people are like a rocket ship that you just can't stop. If that's true? Jeff Hardy is undoubtedly one of those rocket ships.
Like a flare in the sky, Hardy ignited this week's episode of AEW Dynamite when he made his debut and reunited with his brother, Matt. It was a feel-good moment for any fan that loved Team X-Treme in their heyday.
But for Jeff, it seems like much more than that. After being shoved out of the door by WWE and saddled with some really negative publicity, this is a chance for him to prove that he's as good as he's ever been. Based on his track record? There's a good chance that he will.
The high-flying superstar has often proven his doubters wrong. He rose to fame at a young age, and he definitely experienced life in the fast lane before most people were old enough to legally buy a drink. It is very easy to get lost in that world, and sometimes, he did. That doesn't make him awful or someone to be judged — it just makes him a human being.
Like all of us, Jeff Hardy has made some mistakes in life
Most people who battle some form of addiction have a lot of ups and downs. The 'party life' can easily go from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows. Jeff Hardy has definitely dealt with that. He's probably the first person that will admit that a lot of the heat he's gotten over the years, he's brought on himself.
A low point for Hardy came when he was released by WWE. Like many folks who have fought through some demons, it was assumed he had 'fallen off the wagon' again.
This is also very typical of someone who has gone through his experience. Anytime you (seemingly) fail, it's a go-to crutch for your critics. It's almost like a running joke to them.
But like a phoenix from the ashes, he always seems to rise again. Above all of it.
Hardy is still one of the most talented and likable performers of his generation. While he really has nothing to prove, he's probably still got a few history-making moments left in him.
They call him 'The Charismatic Enigma' for a reason. Every time you think you know what to expect from Hardy, he changes the game a bit and leaves a smile on your face.
He's also someone who never seems to stay down when he's knocked down — both personally and professionally.
Whether Jeff Hardy's time with the company will involve him winning tag team gold with his brother or chasing solo championships, it doesn't matter. His life and career are a wonderful comeback story. It's almost certain that Hardy will add a few more chapters to his epic drama now that he's with All Elite Wrestling.
