Jon Moxley meets his vanquisher, Mercedes Mone vs. AEW's Becky Lynch - 5 Matches Tony Khan must book in 2025

AEW booked some incredible matches in 2024. Multiple dream encounters took place in All Elite Wrestling this year, which left the fans stunned.

From Will Ospreay vs. Ricochet to Bryan Danielson vs. Nigel McGuinness, several anticipated encounters became a reality in AEW in the past 12 months. Recently, Tony Khan acquired several prominent free agents, opening up the possibility of even more exciting matchups.

As we await the arrival of 2025, Tony Khan should plan to book certain specific matches. In this article, let's look at five bouts All Elite Wrestling must book in 2025.

#5. Bobby Lashley vs. Hangman Adam Page could be a blockbuster rivalry

Bobby Lashley is adamant about taking over All Elite Wrestling. As part of The Hurt Syndicate, The All Mighty is focused on laying waste to anyone who attempts to stop him from establishing his dominance in the Tony Khan-led company.

Hangman Adam Page would disapprove of The Dominator terrorizing the rest of the roster. The Anxious Millennial Cowboy has been loyal to the Jacksonville-based promotion since day one. If The Hurt Syndicate continues to create chaos all around, the group could end up crossing paths with The Hanger.

The former AEW World Champion could be the one to put an end to The All Mighty's reign of destruction. If he intends to reach the top, Lashley must overcome the threat of Hangman Adam Page.

Having embraced his violent side of late, Page could have an answer for Bobby Lashley's brutality. Lashley vs. Page could be an intriguing upper mid-card feud for 2025 that elevates both individuals.

#4. Mercedes Mone could lock horns with Jamie Hayter

After a long absence from in-ring competition, Jamie Hayter returned to AEW at All In 2024. She donned a new look in her All In appearance, which surprised many fans. The former AEW Women's World Champion showed up with her hair dyed orange, a look that had a striking resemblance to Becky Lynch.

While Hayter might not get to share the ring with The Man anytime soon, she could go up against one of Lynch's biggest rivals in 2025. The name in question is Mercedes Mone, who currently holds the AEW TBS Championship.

Hayter vs. Mone could turn out to be a clash for the ages. While The CEO would show trust in her incredible agility in this contest, Hayter would rely on her raw strength to decimate the reigning TBS Champion. The two could have a decently long rivalry that could lead to a trilogy of matches.

If booked properly, a feud between The CEO and The Ever-Shiniest Striker would attract many viewers to AEW's women's division in 2025.

#3. Jon Moxley could defend his AEW World Championship against Darby Allin in 2025

At Dynamite Grand Slam 2024, Jon Moxley took down Darby Allin to become the new No.1 Contender for the AEW World Championship. The Purveyor of Violence successfully capitalized on his title shot at WrestleDream 2024, where he defeated Bryan Danielson to become the new World Champion.

At the moment, Moxley finds himself the target of several stars, including Orange Cassidy, Hangman Adam Page, and Jay White. However, Moxley's title reign might end only at the hands of Darby Allin.

It was Moxley's victory over The Invisible Man that provided him with the boost that he needed. If Allin had managed to defeat The Ace of All Elite Wrestling in their previous encounter, it would have saved the company from the destruction caused by Moxley's The Death Riders faction.

Partially responsible for the rise of The Death Riders, Darby Allin would be eager to rectify his past mistakes by taking the World Title off Jon Moxley. The Daredevil star must get a shot against The Purveyor of Violence in 2025 to finally get his moment of redemption.

#2. MJF could target Adam Copeland

Adam Copeland has been away from the squared circle since Double or Nothing 2024, when he suffered a gruesome leg injury in his match against Malakai Black. As per recent reports, The Rated-R Superstar has completed his recovery process and might return to the Jacksonville-based promotion after January 2025.

If Copeland returns to in-ring competition in the coming months, Tony Khan must book him in a feud with MJF. The Devil's credibility has taken a considerable hit due to his underwhelming program with Adam Cole, and a rivalry with The Ultimate Opportunist could help bring MJF back on track.

The Salt of the Earth would look to add another feather to his cap by conquering Adam Copeland. The 28-year-old star could play mind games with The Rated-R Superstar to damage him psychologically.

MJF's tactics could wake up the villainous side of The Ultimate Opportunist, which might not bode well for the former AEW World Champion. Tony Khan must pull the trigger on an MJF vs. Copeland feud in 2025, which could possibly elevate the company on the ratings front.

#1. Kenny Omega can face Bryan Danielson this year

Bryan Danielson made his AEW debut at All Out 2021. He interrupted the then reigning AEW World Champion, Kenny Omega, who was stunned to see Danielson.

The two stars eventually collided at the inaugural edition of AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam. It turned out to be a match for the ages, as the two stars put on one of the greatest in-ring spectacles in the history of the business. It was an incredible singles contest, filled with great technical wrestling and innovative reversals.

The bout ended in a 30-minute time-limit draw, leaving room for a rematch. It has been four years since the first Danielson vs. Omega match, and fans are still waiting for them to clash again.

Now that The American Dragon has retired from his full-time responsibilities, he only has a few marquee matches left as an in-ring performer. Tony Khan must not waste time any longer and book the Omega vs. Danielson rematch in 2025.

With AEW set to run the All In show from Texas, a bout between the two former World Champions could be a massive attraction.
