Jon Moxley to win AEW World Title at WrestleDream and immediately get dethroned? Looking at the chances
Jon Moxley will compete for the AEW World Championship at WrestleDream this weekend. He may secure the gold for the fourth time in his career only to immediately lose it.
Moxley made his return on AEW TV after a brief hiatus following All In 2024. Upon his arrival, he joined forces with Marina Shafir. At the All Out pay-per-view, Moxley betrayed World Champion Bryan Danielson alongside Claudio Castagnoli and PAC. If The Purveyor of Violence wins against Danielson at WrestleDream, he could be dethroned by Christian Cage.
The former Shield member secured an AEW World Title shot by defeating Darby Allin on Dynamite: Grand Slam. At WrestleDream, Moxley will face The American Dragon for the championship. Christian Cage won the Casino Gauntlet Match at All In to clinch a contract that allowed him to challenge for the World Title at the time and place of his choosing.
Christian Cage tried to cash in his contract on Danielson at All Out but was stopped in his tracks by Moxley and his allies. The Patriarch could now be waiting for the perfect opportunity to target the champion, and he might finally find it at WrestleDream.
Cage could cash in his contract on Moxley after he possibly defeats Danielson for the World Title. The WWE legend could also receive help from The Patriarchy's Killswitch and Nick Wayne.
Jon Moxley seemingly secured a big trademark recently
Recently, 'Gimmick Attorney' Mike Dockins shared a picture with Jon Moxley on X/Twitter. In the photo, Moxley was holding a trademark certificate, and the phrase on the certificate read "Switchblade Conspiracy."
The aforementioned phrase is the name of a former tag team comprising Moxley and former TNA Wrestling star, Sami Callihan. After seemingly securing the trademark, The Purveyor of Violence could re-form Switchblade Conspiracy in AEW.
Jon Moxley and Sami Callihan primarily worked together in Combat Zone Wrestling. Only time will tell whether the former WWE Champion will reunite with Callihan in AEW.
