Major AEW star to return after over 14 months and cost Mercedes Mone at All In? Looking at the chances
A former AEW Women's World Champion could finally make her return after more than 14 months at All In 2024 next month. The star could cost Mercedes Mone (fka Sasha Banks) the AEW TBS Championship at Wembley as well.
Mercedes Mone is expected to defend her TBS Title against Dr. Britt Baker at All In 2024, even though The CEO has yet to accept The DMD's challenge. Although Mercedes would be the favorite to win the possible match at Wembley, a returning star could cost the erstwhile Sasha Banks the title. The star in question is the former AEW Women's World Champion, Jamie Hayter.
Jamie has been out of action due to injury since May 2023, following her match at Double or Nothing 2023, where she lost the Women's World Title to Toni Storm. Meanwhile, All In 2024, which will take place at Wembley Stadium, London, could be the perfect place for Hayter to make her blockbuster return after over 14 months, as she hails from the UK and could get a huge pop in her home country.
Furthermore, Jamie has a history with Dr. Britt Baker, as she was the latter's sidekick a few years ago. Hence, Hayter could return and reunite with Baker by helping the latter defeat The CEO and capture the TBS Championship.
Although it is unclear whether Hayter would be medically cleared, she could just make a small appearance and reunite with Britt. That said, AEW has yet to officially announce Mercedes vs. Baker for All In 2024. It will be interesting to see if the promotion books the highly anticipated bout for the marquee event.
Mercedes Mone's rival is set for a big match on AEW Dynamite
Mercedes Mone has been feuding with Dr. Britt Baker since the latter's return to the Jacksonville-based company at the recent Forbidden Door PPV. The animosity between the two continues to rise with every passing week.
Meanwhile, Baker is set to go one-on-one against former Women's World Champion Hikaru Shida on the Blood & Guts special episode of Wednesday Night Dynamite this week.
It will be interesting to see if Mercedes Mone interferes during Baker vs. Shida this Wednesday.
