Major hint Lana could snub AEW and return to WWE soon

Lana is one of the biggest released WWE names who has not shown up on AEW television. If recent events are to be considered, the Ravishing Russian could end up going back to her old stomping grounds.

On June 2, 2021, Lana was released by WWE, nearly a year after her real-life partner Miro was released from the company. Her last match for the Stamford-based company came on the May 31, 2021 episode of RAW when Dana Brooke and Mandy Rose defeated Lana and Naomi.

That remains to be her last match with the company as she has not shown up in any wrestling promotion since her release. Despite Miro plying his trade in AEW, Lana has never shown up alongside him in Tony Khan's company.

Despite not being an active wrestler anymore, Lana has often been spotted with WWE stars at various times. This was the case recently when she was spotted having a drink with SmackDown Superstar LA Knight. The photo was taken at the Blue brand's show in Puerto Rico.

With her continued appearances alongside WWE talent as well as her previous comments about AEW, it seems likely that Lana would be primed for a return to the Stamford-based company instead of the Jacksonville-based promotion.

Lana recently explained why WWE is better than AEW

Lana, despite not winning any titles in World Wrestling Entertainment, enjoyed an eventful career there. She was often involved in the most talked about storylines in the company.

I will never forget the fans, and the love they showed me. Whether it was a tank, power-suits, flags, CRUSH, Rusev, 900 partners, weddings or tables: I tried to always entertain you, and you definitely elevated me. Thank you. https://t.co/n7W5i5KAMI

In a recent interview, she explained why her former employers are better than AEW:

"Tony Khan runs his business however he'd like to run his business, I'm going to leave it at that. There's a reason why WWE is the greatest wrestling franchise and one of the greatest franchises in the world and it's because they value sports entertainment, storytelling, and not just fighting for a 'wrestling title,' but they value resolving conflict in the ring and that's what makes wrestling special."

She continued:

"You can fight over anything like (Chris) Jericho would fight over a list. Rusev [Miro] fought in my honor so many times. I fought Summer Rae because she took my ex-boyfriend that I hated and I wanted revenge. Those type of things are relatable and are relatable to women."

Rusev and Lana were a fantastic pairing during their time as an on-air couple. It remains to be seen if they will reunite in the future.
