Malakai Black's rumored AEW departure to force House of Black's downfall? Potential scenario analyzed

Malakai Black is rumored to be no longer with AEW, and his departure has come at a cost to The House of Black. On Dynamite and later on Collision, a rift was teased between Buddy Matthews and Brody King, two of the faction's longest-serving members.

The two stars have played second fiddle to Malakai Black over the last few years, and with their leader now possibly on the way out, it leaves them in a precarious position. On Dynamite, Will Ospreay lauded Buddy and said he would be there for him if needed.

On Collision, Adam Copeland suggested Brody King take the reins and run. That was an endorsement for him to either join ranks with him or go solo. All this has the seeds planted for a potential match between Buddy and Brody.

If the two stars face each other, that could be the culmination of the group, and it would mean the end of The House of Black group. Julia Hart might side with either of them or go her way as a singles star.

Brody King sends a message to Buddy Matthews after Malakai Black's rumored exit

Buddy Matthews had a very hard-hitting match against Will Ospreay on AEW Dynamite, and that made everybody stand up and take notice. Will Ospreay gave him a raving endorsement after the match, and so did Brody King.

After the match, King took to X/Twitter to send a message to his tag team partner. He said that he was the best to ever do it and that he had proved it in his match against Ospreay.

“@SNM_Buddy is one of the best to ever do it and proved that tonight full stop. Tonight you honored both of us even in defeat. Torture rack GTS into Curbstomp 🤌🤌🤌,” he wrote.

The two stars clearly have a lot of respect. So, if they have to break up the group after Malakai Black's potential exit, it will be interesting to see how Tony Khan handles it.
