Massive star to return after 8 months and brutally attack Adam Cole on AEW Dynamite? Analyzing the possibility
Adam Cole has been feuding with MJF for the better part of the year after the former betrayed the latter at AEW World's End. However, Adam Cole might have another person he may have to watch out for soon.
Wardlow and MJF have a long history together. It was the Salt of the Earth who gave Wardlow his big break in All Elite Wrestling. The massive star first debuted alongside The Devil as his employee. Wardlow played a hand in Maxwell's success early on in his matches as he got involved in them and would even weaken his opponents before the latter faced them.
When Maxwell formed The Pinnacle, Wardlow also joined him in the group. However, after spending several years together, the 36-year-old star decided to break out on his own and found success by winning the TNT Championship three times.
However, after his initial success, he was off TV for a while until he returned and formed an alliance with The Undisputed Kingdom. However, this didn't last long as Adam Cole seemingly kicked him out of the group by taking shots at him after he failed to win the AEW World Championship from Samoa Joe.
Following this, Wardlow has not been seen on TV due to an injury but he is ready to make a return. Given that MJF is currently feuding with Adam Cole, it is highly likely that Wardlow could return and align himself with Friedman and attack Cole. The former TNT Champion has a history with both men but he has found the most success in his career by siding with Maxwell. Additionally, he will be looking for revenge against Cole who kicked him out of The Undisputed Kingdom. What better way to get his revenge than to attack him on Dynamite just before Full Gear? If he ends up injuring Cole in the process, it will be a bonus for Maxwell.
Wardlow was backstage for a recent episode of AEW Dynamite
Wardlow's last match on AEW TV was on the 13th March episode of Dynamite when he challenged Samoa Joe for the AEW World Championship in a losing effort. Following this loss, Wardlow has been out of action due to an injury.
He has not been seen on AEW programming since the injury which caused many fans to wonder about his return. Fans will be happy to hear that his return could be around the corner.
According to reports by PWInsider, Wardlow was recently backstage for the 30th October episode of Dynamite. However, his return date is still not yet known:
"Wardlow was backstage at last night's AEW Dynamite taping. We are told he looked healthy. No word as to when or whether he's returning." [H/T PWInsider]
It will be interesting to see if Wardlow will be able to renew his partnership with MJF upon making his return.
