25-year wrestling veteran open to AEW in-ring return
A wrestling veteran of 25 years has revealed that he was open to an in-ring return in AEW. This will certainly take everyone by surprise if it comes to pass.
The name in question is none other than Nigel McGuiness. The AEW commentator shocked everyone when he made his brief in-ring return at All In 2024. He showed up in the Casino Gauntlet Match at Wembley Stadium, taking everybody by surprise.
He has now teased making a return soon during the All Out Zero Hour programming. He was speaking with Jeff Jarrett and Renee Paquette when he said:
"I shot my shot and I didn't get my opportunity, but if another opportunity presents itself, I might take it."
This is interesting because the 48-year-old has long been teasing about wanting to make a comeback to the ring. He made his debut in 1999 and after a great run on the independent scene, where he wrestled on shows for Ring of Honor and TNA, he called it quits in 2011.
McGuiness has long hinted at his desire to take on AEW World Champion, Bryan Danielson, and another potential match with the former WWE star could entice him to make a comeback. It will be interesting to see when it will happen if it does come to fruition.
