3 released talents file massive lawsuit against AEW and Tony Khan

Multiple talents who were released from AEW earlier this year filed a lawsuit against All Elite Wrestling and the company President, Tony Khan. The lawyer also issued a statement regarding the lawsuit.

The three released talents in question are the former commentator, Kevin Kelly, and The Tate twins (aka The Boys). The Boys were released from AEW in April of this year. Furthermore, Kevin Kelly was fired from the company in March. Meanwhile, Kelly and The Boys reportedly filed a lawsuit against the promotion.

According to a report by The Wrestling News, Kevin Kelly and The Tate Twins recently filed a lawsuit against AEW, the company President Tony Khan, as well as the ring announcer Ian Riccaboni. The suit allegedly states that the Jacksonville-based promotion does not classify wrestlers as employees but as "Independent contractors."

The attorney of the plaintiff, Stephen P. New also issued the following statement in an email to The Takedown:

"I am proud to represent Kevin Kelly and the Tate Twins in this lawsuit, I am looking forward to them having their day in Court and the truth coming out about their situations. Finally, I hope this lawsuit is the genesis of a change in the pro wrestling industry wherein we can make pro wrestlers the employees they are instead of 'independent contractors' which they are not and never have been." It was also reported that Kevin Kelly claimed that AEW breached his contract and he is seeking monetary damages from the company and Ian Riccaboni.

Tony Khan's promotion reportedly reacted to the lawsuit

After the alleged lawsuit on All Elite Wrestling, the company President Tony Khan, and Ian Riccaboni, AEW reportedly issued a statement as well. According to The Takedown, the company said the following about the litigation:

"AEW does not comment on pending litigation."

Moreover, only time will tell whether AEW officially reacts to the lawsuit by Kevin Kelly and The Boys and what happens next.
